Because everyone had such a great time at the last shoot we are anxious for the next one.
The date for the 8th Annual TCMS shoot will be June 8th, 2013 and will be held at Dietz Gun Shop and Shooting Range, in New Braunfels, TX. Providing we get the OK from Mr. Dietz I will call him this week to discuss our coming to the range.
Staying in the Pelican Bay cottages this year was a stroke of genius, so we will again be staying in cottages. The cottage pick for this shoot is the Cypress Creek Cottages, in Wimberley, TX. There are only twelve cottages at this place, and as of this writing 7 of them have been reserved. NOTE: They require full payment at the time the reservations are made. Wimberley also has some very nice hotels in the area in the event all the cottages get rented.
Making it a three & a half day weekend will be the plans for many of us, that way we can enjoy the area and have lots of porch time.
The Friday night dinner & Saturday breakfast places have not yet been decided. There is still plenty of time to figure out those details. Saturday after the shoot lunch will be provided by our own chef ~ cpdiii (Thanks Charlie!). Suggestions for the Saturday night meal are more than welcome.
My thanks to mylife, penelopesire, LuvW, BuckeyeTexan and NYTexan for their help in getting these plans going.
Yes, please bring it. I plan on cooking the Brisket and Creole at home the day before and then refrigerating it. I will also bring my BBQ pit to warm it up on at the gun range and if someone wants to cook or warm something on the pit it will be there for them. An extra propane stove would help with side dishes that may need heating i.e rice for the Creole and beans because this is Texas.
Will do!
Looks good!
Hey, while y’all were there did you notice if there is a fire pit?
And what did the wood situation look like?
I’ve got a couple drought-killed trees that need to come down
and get burned up, and with only a small effort I can cut some
prime pieces up into easily transportable sizes.
That looks perfect!! So excited!
Great! So glad to hear that!
I’ll bring the beans!
I third Creole & Brisket!
I don't recall...there may have been.
BT or TM may remember. they took a bunch of pics too.
There seemed to be a lot of dead wood down by the creek and prolly on the other side of the road in the woods.
TM, can ya post one of yer pics of the woods and the deer?
At one of the cabins we looked at I saw a small cord of wood; don't know if the owners resupply nightly.
Bringing extra wood couldn't hurt.
Young buck looking for love . . .
Creek side.
You gonna enjoy! You bet!
Charlie is a great cook.
That young buck was pert frisky chasing after those does!
What weapon is she using? That is serious shooting at 600 meters.

Yes, TheMom said that she missed his cooking at the last shoot, so the curiosity of us n00bs will be satisfied this time.
Rats! That’s the weekend before Valentines so I know I’d never get permission to take off work then. Thanks for the invite, though! :)
Not sure, they live in Washington state and I'm in Texas.
Her sister said something about a 6.8, that both of them liked to shoot (that sister is 13, they have a 20 y/o half sister too, and mid 20s half brother too, the other half). Might have been that one. Don't know if it was a semi-auto or a bolt action.
The sister also said they both liked to shoot the UZI. :)
When Yamamoto said something about a rifle behind every blade of grass, I'll bet he wasn't thinking of pretty little girls behind those rifles. :)
