Because everyone had such a great time at the last shoot we are anxious for the next one.
The date for the 8th Annual TCMS shoot will be June 8th, 2013 and will be held at Dietz Gun Shop and Shooting Range, in New Braunfels, TX. Providing we get the OK from Mr. Dietz I will call him this week to discuss our coming to the range.
Staying in the Pelican Bay cottages this year was a stroke of genius, so we will again be staying in cottages. The cottage pick for this shoot is the Cypress Creek Cottages, in Wimberley, TX. There are only twelve cottages at this place, and as of this writing 7 of them have been reserved. NOTE: They require full payment at the time the reservations are made. Wimberley also has some very nice hotels in the area in the event all the cottages get rented.
Making it a three & a half day weekend will be the plans for many of us, that way we can enjoy the area and have lots of porch time.
The Friday night dinner & Saturday breakfast places have not yet been decided. There is still plenty of time to figure out those details. Saturday after the shoot lunch will be provided by our own chef ~ cpdiii (Thanks Charlie!). Suggestions for the Saturday night meal are more than welcome.
My thanks to mylife, penelopesire, LuvW, BuckeyeTexan and NYTexan for their help in getting these plans going.
Thumbs up, beaming smile, and staying hopeful.
All I did was b*tch about June instead of November.

I was planning on attending this year thinking it was in September. Rut roh!
About 6 months to go
Saw this over on PJ Media and thought of the TCMS :-)

That’s only the ones they KNOW about! ;-)
It must be true...”it’s on the internet”
I like that picture.
Well O didn’t veto the bill, so the chance of being umemployed have gone up quite a bit. Depends on what happens before March 1, when the Sequesration cutting must begin, if they are to have a snowball’s chance in hell of making the cuts. They’ve (all 3 departments of the DoD) already stopped issuing contracts for major maintenance for the last half of the fiscal year, April through September.
The Tollway is 80MPH around the east side of Austin. But the part the goes to Lockhart is 85 MPH. A couple of weeks ago, La Gata and I were in San Antonio, out by Randolph AFB, and decided to explore the tollway.
Woo FReeping Hoo. 85 mph, and being passed, but light traffic.
By the time of the shoot, we’ll probably be declared an illegal armed assembly, and be raided. I pity the poor BATFE bastids who draw that duty.
That declaration would likely be made in one of the lesser states.
I rather imagine we'd get some assistance in the form of "observers" here in the event of enforcement.
Any word from our recon team?
Aren’t they away scouting central Texas this weekend?
Ain’t heard anything.
That could be good, as in they are busily reconning and finding epic locations.
Or they could be in jail. Pick one.
Word is just in that the Recon team away and reports should be in shortly.
I just called NYT and they rolled in last night.
Things sound boisterous.
There was something said about a breakfast house.
Much background noise on a dreary Jan day
Should be a riot in June.
I await further reports.
Recon team checking in ...
NYTexan and I are headed back to FTW. The cottages are really nice and very roomy. I like them better than the ones we had in October. NYTexan took plenty of pics, which I assume he’ll post.
We checked out the range in Lockhart and decided against it. It didn’t fit our needs. Although it is first-come-first-serve, they expect us to share and take turns with all the other yahoos in line behind us. There was no place to eat or sit and they wouldn’t give us a straight answer about tailgating. TheMom said we’ll probably have to go to the Dietz range.
More later!
Sounds good. We all know at this point that the shoot is ancillary to the porch monkey chin wag action LOL
Come June, the swimming holes should be pretty good hangouts, and of course a good cottage home base can’t be beat.
Sorry I could not make the road trip this time.
Thanks for the recon.
I gotta take you on a tour of my leased range on the trinity river.
I like it a lot.
The fellow I rent it from also just opened a new indoor pistol range in caddo mills.
It has his wifes finger prints all over it Lol
Lounge, decor, outside patio, margaritas....
Good folks.
Yeah, we had bit of an adventure on the way down due to construction and GPS issues. It was supposed to be a 3.5 hour drive that turned into darn near 5 hours.
When we rolled in at about 10:00 PM last night, NYT was regretting his decision to let me drive. (Heh!) I think he could’ve strangled me a couple of times.
At one point, we were sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic on I-35 near 6th street because I exited the tollway too soon. Poor NYT was on the phone with the hotel clerk writing down directions by hand to get us out of the mess.
On the bright side, we did drive 100 mph on the new tollway ... because we could.
Definitely. Say when, darlin’. I’m there.
But old lady Dietz was rude to TheMom.
Honestly I'd rather not get within horizon distance to where someone was rude to TheMom.
I cannot get my head around I 35 being backed up on a late Jan, Friday afternoon
