Vice President Joe Biden interrupted Paul Ryan 82 times in a 90-minute debate with rival Paul Ryan, while CNN reported that women preferred Ryan.
FACT: Final Count: Biden interrupted 82 times during the entire debate, the RNCs Joe Pounder tweeted after the debate. CNNs Gloria Berger said that she would have liked Biden to show less condescension and eye-rolling.
Even MSNBCs Chris Wallace who thought that Biden won the debate said that Biden was openly contemptuous and disrespectful of Ryan (h/t Lachlan Markay).
Mr. Vice President, I know youre under a lot of duress to make up lost ground, but I think people will be better served if we dont keep interrupting each other, Ryan said during the debate.
CNNs Erin Burnett said that Women tended to rate Paul Ryan more highly.

We’ll see in the next few days how the lefty media spins it and the viewing audience believes it...
I think Joe was sent in as a spoiler - not to win by superior debate but to keep Ryan from winning by preventing him from clearly presenting his ideas and positions.
Sort of like sending Joe in to hit a sacrificial fly ball.
They knew Joe couldn’t go head to head with Ryan on most issues (if any) but he could prevent Ryan from scoring a big, decisive win by being intrusive and disruptive.
Joe had nothing to lose by acting like an ass because that is pretty much what erasonable people think of him anyway.
Isn’t that the truth. 4 years from now this debate monitoring system in place must go. Do tea party townhalls, get a conservative operator for at least ONE of the debates...and VET the ones who are supposed to be moderating for NO conflicts of interst..
That happens on every talk show, Fox news show. What I would like to see, is the HOST cut off the mic of the one not addressed to answer the question.
What matters is what the “undecided voters” in the swing states think about the debate. I think that you will find that “undecided” women especially those who actually watched the debate will feel offended by Biden’s unprecedented boorish behavior during a VP Debate. Obama has spent hundreds of millions of dollars on negative ads vilainizing Romney and Ryan... it was more important for Ryan to look dignified, caring, and intelligent than to have a tantrum trying to shut up Biden.
>>When your enemy is in the process of destroying himself get out of his way.
Couldn’t agree more. (Churchill said that, I think.)
Biden did himself and his ticket more harm than good tonight.
82 times in 90 minutes is HUGH. But that’s only part of the story. How many times did the “moderator” interrupt Ryan? My recollection is quite a few....
Acting like a clown would make Biden a perfect successor to the current president.
Biden is a punk and you can’t make ‘a class act out of a horses ass’.
He’s a prime example of what is wrong in Washington. One YouTube post debate commentator said that Biden gave SNL and other shows a lot of material for comedy skits, and it will be the portrayals of Biden in those skits that people will remember. Not good for team Obama.
In the first two minutes Joe Biden made me absolutely sick. He laughed and smirked while the topic of discussion was the loss of four American lives in Libya. While him and Barack Hussein Obama were asleep at the switch. You would think someone who made a living in politics for as long as he has would have enough respect for the American people to let them hear from both sides. Shame on you immature Joe.
The first “question” gave an excuse to the white house when she asked Biden if Libya was an intelligence failure.
Did you notice how many times Biden said “I was there”....talking about when obama did this and that?
I expected him to say “I was takin’ a crap in the bathroom off the Oval Office and I heard the president. He said ‘Close the damned door, Joe! And how ‘bout a courtesy flush! I’m tryin’ to be articulate but the smell is screwin’ up my thinkin’.”
Ryan early on told Biden that things would go a lot faster if we didn't interrupt each other. I'm glad Ryan didn't pursue the issue. He'd addressed it once, and Biden just kept up his aggressive and rude behavior. There was a clear distinction between the two. Ryan was a gentleman. Biden was a thug. It was the moderator's responsibility to control the debate. She didn't, and she should be roundly criticized for her letting Biden go off like a rabid animal. All the polls I've seen and voted in, all favor Ryan over Biden.
LOL!! That’s as good as Sore/Loserman.
Chris Wallace - Chris Matthews. Easy to confuse. But, Wallace was terribly offended by Biden.
Just a quick Photoshop job. Maybe someone with some real skill can do it on a bigger scale...
BTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought that too, but then I realized that Ryan did a clever thing by staying calm, not reacting. His behavior talked for him and this is what it said: “This is the problem with politics, this is why nothing can get done, it is good to listen to people and to have respect,we are sick and tired of the phoney theatrics and gotchas because our country is in serious trouble right now”... In the end, Ryan really won when he did his closing and after thanking the moderator, etc., he said, “and thank you JOE.” He got to stick the knife in so sweetly, call him JOE, and in that moment Joe felt very small because he, I think, had not thanked Ryan in his closing, nor said one nice thing all evening, while Ryan said several decent things to “Joe.” It was that thing like when someone is very intrusive in public and you allow them through and they don’t even say thank you...and you say to THEM “thank you.” I can relate to that and it wins.
