Never give permission to search. If the police could search without your permission, they would not ask. You do not know what they might find. Are you in California? Did a couple of .22 cartridges spill from the range bag and roll under the back seat? Did your teenager's freind get pull his phone from his pocket and inadvertently drop a couple of marijuana seeds on the floor of the back seat?
Never give permission to search.

NEVER talk to the police if you could in any way be considered a suspect. Their job is to find suitable candidates for prosecution. serving and protecting are not in the job description

1-Remain silent. Anything you say will be used against you.
2-Ask for your attorney. You may not be interrogated without representation if you request your attorney.
3-Do NOT consent to give up your rights; do not consent to a search without a warrant and review by your attorney.
Give police your name and address only. Refuse any other questions and request your attorney.
