The Pew poll is devastating, just devastating. Before the debate, Obama had a 51 - 43 lead; now, Romney has a 49 - 45 lead. That's a simply unprecedented reversal for a candidate in October. Before Obama had leads on every policy issue and personal characteristic; now Romney leads in almost all of them. Obama's performance gave Romney a 12 point swing! I repeat: a 12 point swing.
Romney's favorables are above Obama's now. Yes, you read that right. Romney's favorables are higher than Obama's right now. That gender gap that was Obama's firewall? Over in one night:
Currently, women are evenly divided (47% Obama, 47% Romney). Last month, Obama led Romney by 18 points (56% to 38%) among women likely voters.
Seriously: has that kind of swing ever happened this late in a campaign? Has any candidate lost 18 points among women voters in one night ever? And we are told that when Obama left the stage that night, he was feeling good. That's terrifying. On every single issue, Obama has instantly plummeted into near-oblivion. He still has some personal advantages over Romney - even though they are all much diminished. Obama still has an edge on Medicare, scores much higher on relating to ordinary people, is ahead on foreign policy, and on being moderate, consistent and honest (only 14 percent of swing voters believe Romney is honest). But on the core issues of the economy and the deficit, Romney is now kicking the president's ass:
By a 37% to 24% margin, more swing voters say Romney would improve the job situation. Swing voters favor Romney on the deficit by a two-to-one (41% vs. 20%) margin.... Romney has gained ground on several of these measures since earlier in the campaign.

Lets not get to far ahead of ourselves here
Amen. But, it is a relief to see.
Maybe I’ll reach my goal to die on the porch whittling, after all!
“Obama still has an edge on Medicare, scores much higher on relating to ordinary people, is ahead on foreign policy, and on being moderate, consistent and honest. . .”
What color is the sky in Andrew Sullivan’s world?
29 more Obama stinking days to go.....
Agree. Rasmussen’s Daily Tracking is dead even at 48% R and 48% O
Who knows what dirty tricks they have in their bags.
What a drama queen. (Sullivan that is.)
This is what happened. Most of the O-bambi-bots finally opened their eyes. Critical mass was reached. “Oh my” they said. “This joker just doesn't have it.” And they switched.
As long as Obama does better in the next debate (it’s a town meeting, so very different), he’ll be declared a winner, even if it’s a tie.
Squirming libs give me a hedonistic delight, for which I am convicted, somewhat.
Not that much, though.
Really very little, now that I think about it. They are, after all, Godless vermin.(In need of salvation).
But, then, Mormons could use a dose of the Truth as well.
Things just aren’t simple anymore.
Isn’t Andrew Sullivan a liberal blogger? This isn’t our side getting giddy - it’s their side panicking.
Why does he think the entire shift is attributable to the debate?
I hope Romney and/or Ryan bring up the fact that a huge per-cent of doctors plan to shut their doors down if Obama Care isn’t repealed. I wish Romney would of said it right to Obama Sleeping Face! After Thursday night it will be “2-0” !!
When Obama used the cooked up numbers on unemployment in a speech, he lost many of those millions of unemployed who know things are only getting worse.
Herein lies the answer to what happened in the debate. Romney DID rebut all of Obama's lies, and he did it on stage in front of 80 million people.
Women didn’t like his failure to perform?
“Has any candidate lost 18 points among women voters in one night ever?”
Obama could do even more if he just announced the following:
Obama: “I, um, uh, have an important announcement for all the women in America. Yes, those pants do make your a$$ look fat.”
Romney just kicked the sleeping dog.
