The men and women of the Detroit Police Department believe the city is too dangerous to enter, and they want citizens to know it.
Detroit Police Officer Association (DPOA) Attorney Donato Iorio said officers are holding the “Enter At Your Own Risk” rally at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in front of Comerica Park to remind the public that the officers are overworked, understaffed, and at times, fearful for their lives.

As Glen Beck described the Cloward/Piven strategy for totalitarian government: bottom up, top down. Take over the middle. Create violence and upheaval so bad from the bottom that the people in the middle demand that the government come in and restore military style order. The government finally obliges (from the top) and ends up controlling the middle, and the bottom, and everything else. People in the middle wake up one day under a totalitarian regime and wonder how it happened.

40 years ago it was similar. People needed to carry just to stay alive in certain parts of the city. Police never issued a warning then because they were getting paid good salaries to sit in donut shops. Today, because their numbers are falling, they pretend to care about potential victims. Detroit has been a disaster for a long time. The liberals and blacks took over and made it that way. Best to stay away if possible, even if the police get new hires or raises in pay to keep their mouths shut.

In reality Detroit is far safe than any number of cities due to one fact. Armed citizens.
Let me guess...the cops want a 20% raise and 5,000 new recruits.
Sadly, over the past few years Detroit residents have been so demoralized they haven’t been able to muster the energy to burn down their city on Halloween, as they used to do in happier times.
Detroit has also experienced riots when one of their sports teams has won a championship — which Detroit’s baseball team is threatening to do this year. A World Series victory might be just the thing to bring Detroiters out of their torpor, while also helping to solve the problem of Detroit’s overworked wrecking companies, which can’t keep up with demand.
In most parts of the country I'd probably find that fact comforting.After a couple of visits to the city I don't consider Detroit to be one of them.
Pretty sure the problem would be resolved within a month.
