The Obama campaign has been reeling since losing the first Presidential debate of this election cycle in front of 67 million viewers. They've tried--and thus far failed--to craft a narrative to explain away the debacle in Denver. Previously, we reported to you that Obama Senior Advisor David Plouffe, who ran the President's successful 2008 campaign, (falsely) accused Mitt Romney of lying. In a rare comedic moment from the typically robotic former Vice President Al Gore, he suggested on Current TV that the Mile High City's altitude was the reason Obama was low on energy and enthusiasm. Neither of those caught on with the mainstream pro-Obama media.

Somehow I ended up on a left wing mailing list of Move On. This is an email re how the left wing progressives feel about the debate:
Dear MoveOn member,
That was infuriating.
During last night’s presidential debate, Mitt Romney smirked his way through dozens of mischaracterizations, distortions, and outright lies. The moderator, Jim Lehrer, never cut him off. And now the mainstream media is saying that Mitt won the debate.
We can’t let Romney “win” the debate on a boatload of lies.
He lied about his tax plan, his deficit plan, and Medicare. He lied about what “Obamacare” would do. He lied, baldly and convincingly, about Obama’s entire presidency.1
We need to move quickly to set the record straight. Our online team worked overnight preparing a media blitzincluding online ads targeted at swing-state voterscorrecting the worst lies in an easy-to-share format.
Chip in $5 to get the truth outcountering Mitt’s lies.
If we don’t fight back now with the truth, some of those lies will stick, and Romney could pull ahead.
Already, Romney and his Super PAC friends have spent millions on blatantly false ads attacking President Obama for gutting work requirements for welfare and cutting $700 million from Medicare.
Last night was more of the same.
And research shows that when lies get repeated enough times people will believe themno matter how outlandish they might seem. The only way to keep Romney honest is to make sure the facts get corrected on the spot.
We’re now in the moment when millions of undecided voters who don’t usually pay attention to politics start to focus.
This is it. This is what MoveOn’s massive online network is for. Let’s use it.
Please chip in $5.
Thanks for all you do.

I'm sure it had to have already been mentioned elsewhere, though I haven't seen it, but I think this speaks volumes about the real nature of their marriage together.
The debate schedules were put in place months ago. You don't think someone from Team Obama, particularly TOTUS or FLOTUS themselves, would've mentioned that Wednesday, October 3rd, was a landmark anniversary date (20th year) and the debate should be scheduled for another night?! OK, rule Monday out because of MNF, but why not Tuesday or Thursday?
Was avoiding going head-to-head against Dancing With The Stars, or some other vacuous tv show, more important than your 20th wedding anniversary?!
Who is the guy in the cowboy hat and what movie was he in? I see his picture all the time and I can’t remember.
Point worth repeating. In all our/your/everyone's slicing and dicing and analyzing, we've overlooked the fact that Obama has not yet manned up and taken the blame for his poor performance. He has yet to say, "I did poorly and it was my fault."
That is the difference between what we've got, and what the People expected in a President. Buck stops, etc. etc.
I hope the people who believed the media crap in 2008 are finally, now, repenting at leisure.
Oh, and guys? We told you so!!!
Okay, you win the Recondite Reference of the Week Award for that one .... going all the way back to George Romney's "I was brainwashed about Vietnam" blivet. Good fetch.
You've just described the typical privlege-academy product who goes into government, his eyes glowing in the dark with his power need, to work long hours for a pittance, just so he can get his hands on something.
And they all want to have cool armored trains and firing squads, like Zhivago's Strelnikov.
Noam Chomsky called them "the New Mandarins". Newsweek, 15 years ago, followed Chomsky when their writers described as "Mandarins" the rising tide of the "new style" politicians like Bill Clinton, Lamar Alexander, the Kennedys, and the rest of the privilege-academy products who never worked an honest job in their lives and don't intend to.
His name is Powers Booth....
It’s nothing. I’m a geezer.
With this narcissist, it’s ALWAYS the fault of someone else.
Look in the mirror, Hussein. It’s YOU. YOUR Fault. Say it...”SAY IT!!!” (Sam Kinison....paging Sam Kinison...”
ya know, I think I'm going to italicize-quote the little doofus's screed from now on, just to avoid such inconveniences. Good suggestion.
And as always, the Satchmo ZOT is soooo cool!
"SAY IT! SAY IT!!!"
Obliged to ya Sarge....
