Also, remember 1998 "March For Justice", as I was the central coordinator - the guy with the long hair pulled back in a pony tail on C-SPAN. I cut that mess off after 9/11/2001 to try and re-enlist - too old.
I remember Ted Hayes being at numerous FR activities after and he was very articulate in his denouncement of liberal/socialist ideologies. Forgot his organization name, but he was pretty much on his own at all those events and as I remember paid his own way. A good man with strong core values. Those were the days of the Free Republic Network created by Bob J that morphed out of the Freeper Action Network (FAN) that I and jolly created. Later came Veterans for Constitutional Restoration (VetsCoR).
Our VetsCoR slideshow of "support the troops" demonstrations during the build up to the Iraq war gave countless folks pride in American values once again. We shipped hundreds/couple thousand? of those discs all around the world and many in-country military couldn't be thankful enough. The best think I ever did, besides my 11 Aviation Navy during the Cold War.
All were good ideas, but couldn't get the funding or interest of the big pundits to promote such. We were novices in the political arena and couldn't get the support. Glad to see Ted Hayes is still doing his thing.
Dear Wifey, please make more coffee!
Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
I may not be the Joy in DC you mention but I was there in DC from the beginning rallies. Still doing my thing for myself and FR both in FL and DC area.
BUMP;
to find later.
