My first thought was either, LEFT TO RIGHT, Polly Bergen or Peggy Cass, (PROBABLY Peggy Cass)
Dick Clark (Very EARLY Dick Clark from the American Bandstand
era), then Kitty Carlisle, then GARY MOORE.
Ahhhhh, my childhood and earliest TV watching years!

Peggy Cass was a tad (several tads, maybe) larger in size.

You’re absolutely right! It IS Gary Moore - remember Carol Burnett started on his show before she got her own show. I always liked Gary Moore - he was a good host.

Growing up in the fifties, I remember we had so many excellent game shows and variety shows to choose from.

I guess you could categorize American Idol as SORT of a variety show, but not quite.

Thinking about these old shows, being nostalgic about my growing up years, can be bittersweet sometimes!
