While everyone else was out at TheMom's mom's, BittyGirl and DarthTheous took PE and Peanut Gallery to the Texas State Aquarium. Several of the pictures were taken by DT.

Raptors! Actually, I think these birds were all rescues. The Eagle was pretty impressive, though.

We met a friendly sea otter...

... and a quiet tortoise.

There were a few other stingrays, but more of this type than the others.

Wow! Thanks for the tour and the pictures of the rescued birds. I do dearly love raptors. We have a lot of them around here, hawks, owls, and eagles. The eagles live over at Guilford Lake, but they prey over a huge expanse of farmland, and they’re “protected,” so no shootin’ ‘em.

We have a number of really tall trees around our house, and the first year we lived here, they made a nest in one of them. That was really cool. But usually they just perch high up and search for prey.
