Obama campaign encourages followers to spam Facebook, Twitter during debate
On Wednesday, the Obama campaign sent an email to supporters encouraging them to spam social media sites like Facebook and Twitter with pro-Obama messages during the debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, Breitbart.com reported.
“So if you think President Obama does a good job tonight, say so,” said deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter in an email.
“Post about it on Facebook, tweet about it, email your friends, and write about it on your Tumblr (if you’re into that sort of thing),” she added.
For those who have difficulty making Obama’s case in their own words, the campaign has talking points ready for followers to cut and paste.
“We’ll have stuff on barackobama.com/debate before, during, and after the debate that will help you talk about the President’s accomplishments and respond to Mitt Romney’s attacks, so get online early for coverage of the whole debate,” Cutter said.
She also encouraged followers to “stick around” for an “exclusive post-debate livestream” with Vice President Joe Biden.
“[M]ake sure you have President Obama’s back, and please, spread the word,” she wrote.
Cutter also linked her Twitter account and the account for the so-called Obama “Truth Team,” to help followers make sure they have their talking points correct.
“So get ready, social media, for the Obama Army,” Ben Shapiro wrote.
