News organizations have so far given little play to the newly surfaced videotape of President Barack Obama’s 2007 speech, proceeding cautiously as they seek to cover the hype surrounding the event while not fanning the flames of a video that may ultimately prove to be of little consequence.
Media outlets hedged their bets with headlines such as CBS News’ “Obama video: October surprise or old news?” and POLITICO’s “Obama ’07 video: Shock or schlock?” While Drudge had promised a “curious tape” that would “cause controversy, ignite accusations of racism,” most news organizations didn’t give much space to the footage, which was widely reported on in June 2007, as my colleague Dylan Byers reported today.
The New York Times’ reported on the footage on its “The Caucus” blog in a post “Obama’s Wright Ties Highlighted Again.” The video’s release, the post stated, “was apparently an attempt to counter the recent video showing Mr. Romney characterizing ‘47 percent’ of the American public as dependent on government.” The video is also referenced on the Times’ “Media Decoder” blog and briefly details Tucker Carlson how defended the tape — which he reported on in 2007 — against claims it was an old story. The video, however, did not make it onto the front page of the Times’ print edition.

I was listening (on XM) to Kilmeade & Friends and he was interviewing some “news” hack whose name I missed. The “news” hack sounded/said he was insulted at journ-o-lists being accused of not doing their jobs. Poor baby, suck it up loser.
Utterly unsurprising. Obama is the media’s creation. They protect him like an infatuated parent dotes on a child. To them, he’s their lovey-wuvey tingleboy who is just sooooooo precious.
To everyone else he’s a foul mouth, conceited, ignorant, arrogant spoiled BRAT.
The Media will literally hide, lie, ignore or create false narrative on ANYTHING that makes Obama look bad, which is significantly worse (being objective) that happened under Bush.
The sugar high of stimulus hides the crash we will hit, the border is wild, the Muslims are going apeshit in the Middle East, the economy has no jobs for the middle class due to Obama policy and there is no hope for energy production.
The media is 100% up to their eyeballs tapdancing and lying to get him re-elected. I am so fed up with the propoganda that I turn off the CNN or ABC news on the radio, it makes me sick to hear of the skewed polls and the made-up stories of Obama’s strong leadership in world affairs. If I hear “Ann Compton or Neil Ratner, ABC News” the cord gets pulled out of the wall...
The Obamaniacal Media have one of their own, a PBS millionaire Commie doing the moderator and our boy Priebus (sp?) allow it. Why not Hannity or Levin instead of the Lefty hacks?

So, our media has decided that a tape showing the POTUS is actually a racist is not a telling piece of information roughly 39 days before a presidential election.
Where are all the SuperPACS? Not much evidence of them to me.
Bogus polls scare them off? “Oooooh, better be nice to Barry because he’s probably gonna win and I don’t wanted to be singled out for Eric Holder Payback...”
I count at least six Politico stories on the tape, including this one which mentions stories in the NYT, LAT, CNN, WSJ, and major network news where Obama spokespersons have to defend against it - on the day of the first debate.
Yep, it’s a bust that folks keep talking about.
Works for me.
