A central tenet of President Obamas foreign policy platform is that al Qaeda is on the path to defeat. The death of Osama bin Laden, drone strikes in northern Pakistan and elsewhere, the Arab Spring, and Obamas more conciliatory approach to the Muslim world have all supposedly come together to sound the death knell for al Qaeda.
But what if none of that is actually true and al Qaeda is, in reality, a more durable foe than the administration wants us to believe?
The numbers dont lie. Al Qaeda, its affiliates, and its allies still kill and wound thousands of people worldwide each yearon a scale that is on par with, if not greater than, years past. But even this only tells part of the story. Al Qaedas ideology remains potent. And the organization itself is becoming stronger in some countries, not weaker.

Stevens is dead and the Muslim Brotherhood thrives....within the State Department and the White Crib.
“I think, on the terrorist attack, I mean, as we determined the details of what took place there and how that attack took place, that it became clear that there were terrorists who had planned that attack, and that’s when I came to that conclusion.”

Why does nobody make the obvious connection - that the very act of Barack Hussein Obama crowing and “spiking the football” about the killing of bin Ladin, was only to inflame and energize the remaining al Qaeda operation, and its parent organization, the Muslim Brotherhood. The sect of Muslims known as the Salafi/Wahhabi differs from the Sunni and Shia, in that they are the “most pure” Muslims in all of Islam.
The crowing about killing bin Ladin is more offensive, in the eyes of this Salafi/Wahhabi sect, than even defamatory videos of some sun-crazed old sand hermit, because bin Ladin represented this “most pure” brand of Islam.
And here I thought Club GITMO was "the" recruiting tool for al-Qaeda....Hmmm....
I am still in search of definitions for "peace loving", "moderate", and "extreme" Muslims. Shari'a Law, regardless of the level of fervor, is fully incompatible with the US Constitution and our way of life. Same for Salafi/Wahhabi, Sunni, or Shia - all seem to be counter to freedom IMHO.
