That’s three more than the number of Obama signs I’ve seen in Seattle. Northern Seattle, even.

There’s no outward love for Obama in King County. He’s disappeared.

Saw a thread on DU discussing this and they decided the reason was that Obama is such a lock, supporters don’t feel the need to waste money on signs. BS. Local races without any challengers have yard signs here.

Love their name: the Liboff’s.

Market that as a spray can.

Bothered by intolerant liberals? Try Liboff!

A yard sign or a bumper sticker does not CONVINCE people to vote for your candidate... Ever see one change a single vote? So putting up a sign or placing a sticker on your car is ABOUT YOU... And frankly, who cares about what YOU think. It is a vanity thing. Just go vote!

I rub my signs with Poison Ivy, then watch my neighbors for signs of Calamine Lotion. No obama signs anywhere. One Romney sign.

In my neighborhood six weeks ago there were about half so many Obama signs as Romney signs. That was pretty strong for Obama in this area. Now I don’t see any Obama signs at all. They are pretty thin over in the black neighborhoods though they are a monopoly there. Around here no one hassles anyone else about what signs they have and on one steals or defaces them. It is curious though, that the Obama signs in my neighborhood have disappeared. All in all there are a lot fewer campaign signs up this year than I have ever seen in a presidential year.

Civility has surely been lost on both sides. I was talking to a younger neighbor recently who is incensed at a few Obama signs on the block. I don’t think he understood when I told him that when I grew up, yard signs were much more common and you’d see opposing signs up and down the street, and no one was bothered by the fact. They were still neighbors, still got along, still ratted all of us kids out to our parents, etc. Things have changed so much. I’m learning what it feels like to be old.

I don’t know whether signs work or not. They might in local races. Say a voter doesn’t know much about any of the candidates for sheriff, but he saw a lot of signs for one candidate, and, thus, recognizes one of the names. Maybe he would vote based on that. Another scenario might be if a voter saw a sign in the yard of someone whose opinion he respected, or, conversely, in the yard of someone he knew to be a liberal dolt. That might that affect his decision.

I do intend to vote! And, though it may come as a shock, some people do care what I think.

Thats a good point and I agree with you, yard signs could help locally with name recognition, I had not thought if that. But on a national scale it only invites anger from the other side and will convince NO one. I like my 10 year old car too much than to have it destroyed if I go to lunch in Savannah just because my car has a Romney/Ryan bumper sticker! They are still wearing “give Obama a chance” T shirts down there!
