The Republicans will massacre each other after Mitt Romney loses
Telegraph - UK ^ | October 2, 2012 | Dan Hodges

Posted on 10/02/2012 11:43:59 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

..............Incredible as it may seem to most outside observers, Mitt Romney is actually what currently passes for a moderate in today’s Republican Party.....

Romney was sold – in the teeth of opposition from a significant section of the Republican grass roots – as the pragmatic choice, the compromise they had to make with ideology to secure victory. And when he loses, those activists are going to go as vengefully crazy as Cain’s Rhode Island Reds.

Anyone who doubts the reaction of the GOP stalwarts to Romney’s impending defeat should bear in mind this single, if chilling, fact. Most of them still think he’s going to win. They genuinely believe the polls are fixed. They seriously think the surge in support for Obama is nothing more than an "MSM" conspiracy. Some of them clearly even believe the good Lord himself will appear in the spin room at the University of Denver next Wednesday.

And when non of these things turn out to be true, the reaction will be truly terrible to behold. It will be like what happens inside one of those doomsday cults the morning after they all wake up and realise the world hasn’t ended after all. First the shock, then the denial, then finally the anger and retribution.

The pinko, Marxist, Obama-loving side of me can’t wait for the fireworks to begin. But there’s another part of me that’s quite disheartened at the thought of the last few moderate elements of a once great political party vanishing beneath a tidal wave of post-election Tea Party hysteria. The majesty of Lincoln, boundless optimism of Reagan, dignity of McCain – swept from the pages of history by a bunch of moon-colonising, carnivorous chicken-touting, hurricane-summoning fruit loops....

“The Republicans will massacre each other after Mitt Romney loses”

Does that really mean, the GOP will be wiped out and a replacement party will emerge?

Mitt Romney is not going to lose. Don’t let media propaganda get to you. They’ve been lying to us for the past 5 years. Why does anyone think that they would suddenly start telling us the truth now?

Obama added planks favoring Gay Marriage and taxpayer funded abortion on demand up to birth to the 2012 Democrat Party platform.

By contrast the 2012 GOP paltorm is the most Conservative one in their history.

No matter how much you hate Romney, only a person completely brain dead would refuse to see the stark difference between Romney and Obama on social issues.

With Romney Social Conservatives have a seat at the table, with Obama you will actively promote everything you are against.

By 2016 everything you Soc Cons claim to be so passionate about will be legislated. As Roe V Wade should of taught you, once something is legislated it become almost impossible to undo.

Once 2016 rolls around the Judiciary will be so packed with Obamabots anything you DID manage to legislate would simply be undone by Judicial Fiat.

We HAVE NO MORE TIME for this “whaa my candidate of choice did not win so I am going to sabotage the GOP nominee to show them I was right” mindset some of you are so desperate to cling to.

Does anyone remember how upbeat were were around here going into the 2006 congressional elections???

Uh.. Actually no. Republicans and conservatives of all stripes were moribund going into those elections.

Naw, I think that MSM’s corporate daddies would pull the leashes on the editors in the event of an economic collapse affecting their interests. Keep in mind that during the Watergate it was the owner of the Washington ComPost, one Katherine Graham (sp?) who drove the action against Nixon (not for economic reasons, admittedly, but still, it was the business interests that dictated to the editors.)

Does this make Romney evil, evil with a refined message, or converted evil who keeps backsliding?

No, it makes him...

Rasmussen has already written that if Romney loses, the GOP establishment will lose control of the party. I think he’s probably right. The Tea Party will take over the GOP.

I’m getting the same feeling going into this election.

Well you must of been at an different website. Around here most of us knew we were getting killed and were pissed at the RINO GOP house leadership for protecting, rather then burning, our political dead wood. We all knew we were in for an ass kicking in 2006 and 2008. We just tried to find something to keep hope alive. You really see anything in your day to day life that shows Democrats doing as well this year as they did in 2006 and 2008? I am always surprised by "conservatives" who after witnessing the hundred of politically corrupt pro Democrat spin stories in the National Media for decades suddenly start defining their reality by what ever the Mass Media is telling them at election time.

If Romney wins and turns the economy around, people won’t hear about it. We could have 0% unemployment, but the MSM would concentrate on stories about a poor, black, disabled, gay, autistic female starving artist from inner city Detroit unable to work or pay medical bills because the entitlements don’t cover some weird STD. It’s always something.

Speaking from a purely Minnesota perspective, there may well be a post-election civil war within the Minnesota GOP.

The battle will be between supporters of Ron Paul and the traditional element within the GOP. The Paultards came in and ousted everyone who would not show total slavish allegiance to Ron Paul and all he stood for.

Now let’s keep something in mind. The Paultards did not purge the country club element in the state GOP. They purged EVERYONE! They did it in an extraordinarily boorish and harsh manner.

In the short time the Paultards have been in charge, they’ve, simply put, f***ed up just about everything they’ve touched. Most of them have disappeared from being available to volunteer on campaigns. You can’t count on many of them. Their sole loyalty is to a old coot down in Texas.

Even before the election, there’s already been talk about big-time payback.

It better be called the Tea Party. The Tea Party is a great, positive, highly recognized brand name. People simply recognizing and knowing your name is the single most vital component to marketing yourself and one of the hardest to achieve.

I don’t want to hear that the media has smeared the Tea Party name so we need a new one. They will eventually smear whatever new name you come up with too. And the only way to win is not to run away from the smears but to confront them, challenge them and redefine who you are despite the media. This goes for the candidates they smear as well.

We got Romney in part because the media had smeared Newt when he was in power and his colleagues were too cowardly to defend him. They also smeared Palin. And so the RINOs, working in conjunction with what the MSM set up for them, kept telling us “their negatives are too high.”

“Problem was Conservatives went back to sleep after 1994 and 2000 elections”

Incredibly well-put.

We need to realize that the revolution doesn’t end when we win an election. We need to keep pushing it forward by winning more elections.

The Democrats have long understood this. They’ve gotten their butts kicked in many elections and yet, they really never give up. In that respect, I gotta hand it to them. They know what it takes to win. A lot of the time, we don’t.

No, no. This is just the opinion of a British Marxist who gets all his information through the MSM.
I was around when Goldwater lost. It was incredible that the electorate actually chose Johnson over Goldwater. But that was not the end.

If Romney loses, it will be mainly the fault of the voters. It will mean that we should have been counteracting the brainwashing which has been going on in the media, and especially in the schools, for decades. Sometimes it takes a disaster to make people learn to fight.

That's unfortunate, in so many ways. But mostly because the Paulistinians aren't interested in building anything -- only in tearing down. Their anarchist streak runs toward nihilism.

Ron Paul himself never wanted to win anything, either. He was one of these guys who got his kicks by pissing in the soup.

If there is to be a civil war in the Republican Party, best that it be conducted between serious people.

Paul's people aren't serious people...
