New USA TODAY/Gallup Poll: GOP regains enthusiasm edge. 64% of Reps are more enthusiastic than usual v. 48% of Dems. http://usat.ly/QyKk3a (Link goes to USA Today/ Gallup poll results. Enthusiasm gap buried in article.)
“I am truly surprised RC hasn’t ridden the lightning.”
Obot did get the zot but they let it come back. I’m guessing it’s for our amusement :)
This board is teeming with trolls to many to count! We need to call for the Zot.
But they got 20,000 in a 5,000 seat venue!!

Don’t forget they also cut a day out of their convention and canceled at the speedway.
I can’t remember which FReeper posted it but the Kenyan team ran ads on Craigs list hiring people to infiltrate the forums.
And so the NYT/Quinnipiac/CBS polls justify their D+9% skew because....?

Incredibaly, there is an answer to your question. Read the Hugh Hewitt thread where he interviews a couple of pollsters. Great thread that addresses your issue.
As to your question, the answer in a nutshell is that they don’t model D/R/I based on a more or less fixed Turnout Model. They do that on the fly - its based on how many Dems, Republicans or Independents ANSWER THE PHONE. So if they get a D+19 poll that’s just the way it is. They simply ignore the fact that their poll is nonsense - they just go with it.
The problem I see with this is it brings into question the possible if not likely bias that is built into their system.
Poll Ping.
Jet, check out the new caveat added to the OH spreadsheet. We must be making some people pretty uncomfortable!
“Enthusiasm gap buried in article.”
I bet it is, and would have been buried even further if they could have figured out how to do it.
If New Jersey voters are fighting alligators to get to the polls then we have more of those dual voters to weed out down here. LOL
In reality, here is the progression of the Grand Finale Shuck and Jive Show without the Greek Columns but instead wound up with the Russian ships and Turkish fighter jets.
134,000 seating capacity at Charlotte Motor Speedway (no longer a Lowes title sponsorship)
74,000 seating capacity at (New Black) Panther Stadium (it is really Bank of America Field)
20,000 seating capacity at the round ball court. And they had to let in regular people off the street while locking out some of the delegates because they were late stumbling in from some watering hole at the same time, just to fill it up.
But, but ... Romney’s toast!
Heck, that was probably half media.
Yes. The pollsters want to keep their jobs, no mystery there.

I wonder that too friend. I personally have been getting so many calls from 1-800 and 1-888 and 1-202 and every other area code and simply ignore them then set them as a new contact w/silent iPhone ringtone naming them Nope, uh uh, crap, lemmelone, crap 2, stop bothering me, on and on etc!!!
Now I don’t have any idea if these are pollsters or people wanting money from me and that’s the beauty of cell phones even tho theyre allowed to harass me now it’s gonna be only one time from that particular number.
Guess my point is that there are people like me multiplied beyond measure. What kind of personality wants to talk to pollsters? I don’t have time for that nonsense, even if I had nothing to do
Which is where it should be, as the 2010 tsunami recedes -- slightly -- and the electoral map sets up like 2004 but with GOP-favored reapportionment. On paper, it's an easy win (see below), the hard part is pulling it off with Mittens.
[In the area where I live you saw tons of bumper stickers and yards signs around here for the one in 2008, but, this year it seem his supporters are all in hiding.]
Of course they are. Nobody wants to admit they support a centralized government using it’s power to steal the fruits of their neighbor’s labor and to give it to them.
