Nakoula pleaded no contest in 2010 to federal bank fraud charges in California and was ordered to pay more than $790,000 in restitution. He was also sentenced to 21 months in federal prison.
He was released in June 2011
(so sometime in 2010 he went to jail.. and was let out in june... plus 21 months for 3/4s of a million bucks? wow! He’d be in jail still if I was the judge)
As to the violation of probation? I can only guess.. didn’t make the restitution payment?
He flipped and turned govt informant.
I heard today on the radio that the judge had ordered that he stay away from computers and not go online. I guess it was a life sentence without the chance of a log on. Since I heard it on the news, I'm taking it with a grain of salt. I really don't trust anything I hear from the "media". This excuse to throw the guy in jail for "probation violation" probably came from the White House in hopes of calming down the rabid muzzies. JMO
