Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.) reminds Republicans why they were hoping he would drop out of the U.S. Senate race against incumbent Claire McCaskill (D).
I think we have a very clear path to victory, and, apparently, Claire McCaskill thinks we do, too, because she was very aggressive at the debate, which was quite different than it was when she ran against Jim Talent, Akin told the Kansas City Star on Thursday.
She had a confidence and was much more ladylike [in 2006], but in the debate on Friday she came out swinging, and I think thats because she feels threatened.

We ripped Arlen a good one for it.
Funny how a majority of posters here on F.R. DEMAND that the GOP grow a set of cahones, and quit being so PC.
Akin does so, and yet, you think he should just shut up?
Do you think he can win by kissing Claire’s derriere and keeping his mouth shut?
What is so wrong with some REAL HONESTY?
Agreed, but he’s all we’ve got at this point—and we need that seat. He’s an imperfect vessel, but he’s the only ship out of the harbor.
Strawman.
I never said it was a crime.
I never said it was immoral.
I never ever implied people don’t have the right to free speech
Why is THE TRUTH a DUMB COMMENT?
The first comment was taken out of context but it lost him support. His poll numbers went down after that. Fact.
Use logic, not emotion.
Akin can do what he wants.
How do you win is the question?
Is this not important?
Apparently to most here on FR winning is not important.

In this case Akin didn't say anything at all worth condemnation but you even have Republicans hopping to the Democrat tune of gaffe making.
Ex: Scott Brown could come out and call Warren a lying feminist and that would be truth but it would be DUMB if he wanted to win a Senate seat.
She has a certain cattiness and b*thchiness about her in my opinion (judging from her behavior at the 2010 townhalls).
Maybe Akin can call her those things next.
After all, if it’s true, why not say it?

OK. Now throw up your bonafides and let's compare.
Oh come on, already.
Some of you people sound like POLITICALLY CORRECT LIBS.
What’s happened to the Free Republic?
So what you are saying is that you prejudge things before you get all the facts ? And once YOU decide, nothing can change your mind ?
Your screen name isn’t very ladylike. LOL
Conservatives do indeed need the seat, but God help us get it because Akin sure isn’t helping.
If I did, they would identify me, which would not be good.
Suffice it to say, that many MORONS are “well-educated”. The Universities are FULL of them.
That doesn’t provide them with any common sense.
And no, I don’t want to see YOUR “bona fides” either.
Yeah, but mainly the IGNORANT and EASILY LED ones.
Oh, I get it. Do you think the media didn’t hear about this comment and won’t make anything of it? If it doesn’t appear at FR then it’s not in the media spin cycle and won’t have any impact whatsoever?
Good luck with that.
I was unclear, the “you” in my statement was directed to McCaskill for the feigned outrage she will surely try to generate. I forget that when i hit “reply to post” im replying to a person and not the article.
