Obama: Does Romney want ‘to start another war’ in Middle East?

President Barack Obama hit back hard in a "60 Minutes" interview broadcast Sunday at Mitt Romney's criticisms of his handling of Syria and Iran, saying that if the Republican standard-bearer "is suggesting that we should start another war, he should say so." Obama also brushed aside talk that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been pressuring him to take a harder line on Iran's suspicious nuclear program — source of some of Romney's sharpest campaign-trail criticisms. "When it comes to our national security decisions-- any pressure that I feel is simply to do what's right for the American people. And I am going to block out any noise that's out there," the president said. "Now I feel an obligation -- not pressure but obligation -- to make sure that we're in close consultation with the Israelis-- on these issues, because it affects them deeply," Obama said. "They're one of our closest allies in the region. And we've got an Iranian regime that has said horrible things that directly threaten Israel's existence."

RE “” I remember having arguments with folks about whether we should hit them back or not. I was pro “bomb them back to the stone age”, of course, as you would expect.”
.......
Same here. It would have worked too. They only understand muscle.

As I recall bombing only wars rarely worked out (Vietnam) especially when they are already in the stone age like Afgan.

Cable has been replaying Rambo 3 where he goes to Afgan to help the freedom fighters, err terrorists, err confused now, against the USSR trying to bomb them back to, what age was that? If you only saw how nice those Afgans were ....in that movie

Sorry, I am doing it again:)

Gee I don’t know, please define the nebulous, “Romney’s people.”

Oh....One of his foreign policy advisers that he sent out to some of the morning shows last week to slam Obama for not doing enough in Syria. The kind of person who helps write the foreign policy parts of his speeches and lays out his campaign's stances and goals. That kind of "people".

Maybe Romney just taking the side of liberty in that bess pool of a region, or at a minimum, speaking out against tyrannical theocracies, supporting Israel, getting really tough on Iran and either kicking ass in our two current wars or getting the hell out now.

Sorry pal, there is some very heavy lifting ahead in that region, your hand-wringing aside. Please resume fetal position and insert your left thumb in your mouth.

Son, you're just going to have to trust me on this one. We don't need to get involved with Muslim civil wars that are not our concern, especially on the side that the Muslim Brotherhood favors and is directly supporting.

Take my word on this one: The Muslims can kill each other off just fine without our help, without our troops, and without our tax dollars and neither side of the war in Syria is an ally of the United States. Quite the opposite, as we've seen time and time again.

What the Hell, would you rather I just vote for Obama? Sorry, that ain’t happening!

I never asked you to vote for him, just asking you to be aware that both parties want us to get involved in affairs that are not our concern. They are acting like a couple of children, daring each other to say something even more ridiculous. The next thing you know, we are dropping bombs in Syria before the first debate, or Romney will be promising that if elected, he will unleash massive airstrikes against the Syrian government the day he takes office.

Yep, that Rambo 3 movie is pretty funny, I like when they shock him to get him to talk. But Rambo never talks.

Rambo 6 we could send him back to kill the terrorist kids of those Afgans he helped in the #3 movie.

How about when he invades the VC POW camp after we leave and after SV falls. He got all our POW’s out and proved to the world that they are still alive, and now VN is capitalist, thanks to Rambo :)
