Does 1979 newspaper column shed light on 2008 campaign story? (Possible Saudi support for Hussein)

Searching old newspapers is one of my favorite pastimes, and I have tried to use them many times to shed light on current events — or to inform readers about how the past is prologue to our very interesting present-day quandaries.

Recently, I came across a syndicated column from November 1979 that seemed to point 30 years into the future toward an obscure campaign issue that arose briefly in the 2008 presidential campaign.

Al-Mansour tellls that he met Barry at Occidental. At that time Mansour, who was also known as Don Warden, a founder of the Black Panthers, and recent graduate of Boalt Hall, called the eminent Percy Sutton, Army Air Force pilot, attorney to Malcolm X, Louis Farrakhan, The Muslim Brotherhood, and Charles Rangel, among many others, and asked for help getting Barry into Harvard. That was some time before 1988.

Mansour’s diatribes, idiosyncratic Black Nationalism mixed with Islam, can still be found on YouTube. Mansour, when he met Barry, had become both part of Alwaleed bin-Talal’s legal staff, and was working as a Whahhabi recruiter for bin-Talal, working in US Prisons. Mansour told Percy Sutton, in a popular YouTube interview from 2007, that Obama had no need for financial support because bin-Talal (who is News Corp’s largest private stockholder, News Corp owing FOX News and the WSJ, with major holdings of Citibank, Cisco, GE, Oracle, ...( was Obama’s mentor.

The clear implication is that the Saudi family has been supporting Barry at least since 1980.

A fascinating new detail was discovered by Frank Miele, referenced by Jack Cashill, about an interview Vernon Jarrett, Valarie's father-in-law, conducted with Mansour in 1979. Jarrett, described a plan being promoted by Mansour, representing bin-Talal, were proposing to finance education for minorities in the US. Jarrett is one of the Communist elites out of Chicago, a longtime friend of Marshall Davis. The connections are not speculation. You can find the Jarrett article by reading the Cashill article at WND. You can hear the eloquent Warden/Mansour on Youtube, though I could no longer find the discussion where he mentioned his introduction to Obama at Occidental (which doesn't mean it isn't still there).

Mansour, from the Jarrett interview, was representing OPEC, as counsel for bin-Talal, when he discussed the program targeting minority education. In 1979 few were aware of the Madrass program for creating Jihadis all over the world; to most it sounded like a harmless and beneficial effort to to improve the economic state and futures of the less privileged, and not a long range plan to insinuate Sharia and Islamic domination through targetted education.

Read Horowitz’ “Discover The Networks” description of Mansour. Listen to his diatribes. He is a colleague of the Rev Wright fromm Wright's Black Nationalist days. Mansour is an erudite and disciplined representative of Wahabbi Islam, with a more coherant version of Islamic history, coupled with virulent hatred of caucasions, than his, and Percy Sutton's friend, Louis Farrakhan. He has worked for the Saudi Royal family for about thirty five hears, and he was Barry's mentor after Marshall Davis, directing Saudi funds to support Barry according to Percy Sutton. Sutton was old, in his 80s, but certainly not senile when interviewed by NY public service television, and when recounting the discussion he had with Mansour in the mid-1980s. He was proud to have been able to help.

Bin-Talal donated about twenty million dollars to Harvard a little before Barry was admitted. A few years later bin-Talal founded the Alwaleed bin-Talal Center for Islamic Studies at Harvard Divinity School, following up with similar centers at Georgetown, Cambridge, and American Universtiy. His center is now the best funded division of Harvard Divinity School. Is there any doubt about who owns Elena Kagan, Larry Tribe, whom Kagan shielded from undoubted plagiarism charges, who was Obama’s adviser at Harvard Law, and the author, with Ted Olson, of the letter used to for talking points by Obama and McCaskill, Obamas campaign co-chair, when they needed to obscure Obama’s ineligibility by protecting McCain's ineligibility from being questioned again in Senate Res 511, April 2008. SR 511 became necessary after McCAskill Obama’s S. 2678, the “Children of Military families Natural Born Citizen Act” failed to pass in February 2008.

Mansour was there at the beginning of a remarkably well-planned, and successful plan to put a Saudi-owned agent in a high position. That Obama may have been the beneficiary of the program advertised by the Communist Jarrett is new, but seems likely. Barry's funding began about a year after the Jarrett article, and Jarrett was close friends with Marshall Davis, and with David Axelrod's mentor, David Canter, who worked for the Soviets for years translating Lenin into English. It is no surprised that Jarrett's daughter-in-law is often identified as the real power behind Obama’s actions.

Early Obama critics will remember the particularly bizarre case of Percy Sutton, a leading African-American Civil Rights leader and entrepreneur who, while being interviewed on a New York area news program, dropped something of a bomb. Specifically, Sutton claimed that then-candidate Obama had earned his admission to Harvard thanks to the intervention of a mysterious lawyer named Khalid al-Mansour, who Sutton fingered as working for one of the wealthiest men on earth. According to Sutton, Mansour had asked him to write a letter of recommendation for Obama, and was in the process of “raising money” for Obama, though what this money could be for, he didn’t specify.

You reply as if I suggested you purchase something Pablo Picasso painted or worse that I was impressed with it.

You wondered if genius was some kind of code word. Like many others, I’m sure, I’ve wondered about that genius tag the left hung on Obama so I occasionally look around trying to get a handle on that.

It would be nice to believe those who could be described as liberal elite phonies only sit around philosophizing about a more perfect/gentle/loving/peaceful world posing for each other.

Unfortunately, they also plan, they also take action, they also organize and they got lots and lots of money. But they do philosophize. They couldn’t gain intellectual standing without it in their community, no matter what level of society they exist.

One shouldn’t make the mistake of discounting the power of atonal music when millions listen to it and identify with the message that accompanies it. There is some insight to be gained in that message on the page I linked to if one considers and takes serious the anger and the discipline of the gangs that rule neighborhoods or if you will, political sub-divisions.

What I think they mean by their use of genius is actually catalyst. I also think the left, at every level, understands if you let the catalyst run free you or your party or your gang is going to benefit, someone else is going to pay and change is finally gonna come.

I stand in awe of liberal elite's interesting concoctions - mixes of social psychology, philosophy and ghetto politics... Amazing stuff. Then I remember ... their goal is old and ugly - power, self glorification - stirred and fermented in warmed-up Marxism. Not grand. Not impressive. And yet, despite the segregation and mistreatment, Jarrett had a good time in the Navy. For one thing, it took him to the big city. All the blacks who enlisted from his part of the country were sent to boot camp in the black section of the Great Lakes naval base about 40 miles north of Chicago, which was such a wonderful adventure for a youngster from Paris, Tennessee, population 9,000, that Jarrett would come back here to live soon after he was discharged. Among the many wonders he experienced in Chicago was a speech by Aleksandr Kerensky, an early leader of the Russian Revolution, who was driven from power by the Bolsheviks and exiled to the U.S. People like Kerensky were barely rumors in Paris, or in Knoxville, where Jarrett went to college, or even in nearby Nashville, a big city by southern standards.

From Great Lakes, Jarrett was sent to Cape May, New Jersey, not far from New York City. Jarrett’s most poignant memory of New York is of getting into a fight in an Automat with a loudmouthed anti-Semite. Jarrett says he made so much trouble in Cape May that the Navy shipped him back to Great Lakes and finally to Hawaii. “They didn’t know what to do with us educated blacks in the Navy,” he says. “They should have made us officers like they did with the educated whites, but they wouldn’t do that so they kept shifting us around.”

Apparently the instruction sheet the Navy put out on how to handle “Negroes” didn’t include information about college-educated blacks. It wasn’t just that he was educated; Jarrett was not very subservient. He protested loudly when he and the other blacks were forced to shave off their mustaches. “You don’t know what a mustache means to a Negro,” he tried to explain. For blacks, he insisted, a mustache is a sign of manhood—in that time of Jim Crow it was one of the few symbols of masculinity that a black man could call his own.

“We had one meeting with the commander and then gave up. We just couldn’t make a dent in him,” Jarrett says.

He and his friends didn’t always give up so quickly. At Cape May, they staged a hunger strike when the mess hall was resegregated after a brawl. In Hawaii, Jarrett almost hit an officer who was insulting Jews. He told the man, “You’re a poor-assed representative of America. You sound just like Hitler.” When the officer asked for his number, Jarrett said “Go f*ck yourself” and walked away promising, “I’m going to report you.”

Jarrett’s protests were not always face-to-face. He was the editor of the black base newspaper in Hawaii. “It was a civil rights paper,” he says with his characteristic chortle. ...

Kengor: I’ll start with Valerie Jarrett, who is Obama’s single closest adviser, like a sister to both the president and first lady.

When Frank Marshall Davis was in Chicago in the 1940s, he hooked up with every communist front-group under the sun—and there were tons of them. One of the worst was the American Peace Mobilization, which Congress correctly identified as “one of the most seditious organizations which ever operated in the United States”—“one of the most notorious and blatantly communist fronts ever organized in this country.” This group, in 1940, pushed to keep America out of the war against Hitler. It’s a long story, but Frank Marshall Davis worked with this front group. And the 1944 Congressional report listing his involvement also lists the involvement of a fellow Chicagoan named Robert Taylor. Taylor was the grandfather of Valerie Jarrett.

And there’s another Jarrett connection in this: Both Taylor and Davis knew another Chicago leftist, Vernon Jarrett. Vernon Jarrett and Davis teamed up on the small publicity team of the communist-controlled Packinghouse Workers Union; incidentally, Frank Marshall Davis publicly wrote a column calling for the nationalization of the meat industry. Vernon Jarrett ultimately became Valerie Jarrett’s father-in-law.

If you were unfamiliar with Valerie Jarrett's past, I would think that it is interesting to start with her birth. She was born in Shiraz, Iran in 1956, where her father, James Bowman, was working as a doctor for an American program intended to aid developing countries strengthen their health efforts.

While in Shiraz, Bowman had become acquainted with a prominent Iranian by the name of Mohamed Nemazee. It was during his stay in Iran that James Bowman, as well as Mohamed Nemazee, had allegedly gotten involved in pro-communist movements, including such organizations as the Tudeh Party of Iran, that called for the nationalization of such industries like oil, in which the Nemazee had also been involved with, but the crackdown following the 1953 Coup against Masaddeq forced both of these men to curtail any public support, which eventually led to Bowman leaving to London in 1961, and then later returning to Chicago in 1963.

It is also interesting to note that Valerie Jarrett's mother, Barbara Bowman, was responsible for the founding of the Erikson Institute, which counted William Ayers’ father as a Chairman of the Board Of Trustees. It was a result of the her and her husband's socialist involvement in Iran that led her to the creation of the Erikson Institute, along with philanthropist Irving B. Harris, social worker Lorrain Wallach, and child psychologist Maria Piers. It's original mission was to provide teachers with education on understanding the role family and culture play on a child's life. This area of study was essential in establishing early education lesson plans designed to indoctrinate the youth.

I return to Jarrett's father, James Bowman, and his association with Mohamed Nemazee. Mohamed, while known as the founder of his namesake hospital in Iran, he is also the father of Hassan Nemazee, who was a top fundraiser for not only the Democratic Party, but for Barrack Obama. It is also interesting that Nemazee was arrested in August of this year for defrauding banks of $292 million dollars to fund his political activism.

Like Obama, Jarrett has a somewhat unusual life story, something they bonded over when the two first met in 1991.

Jarrett’s father [see below] was a doctor, and in the 1950s, he and his wife, Barbara, who is an expert in early childhood development, moved to Shiraz, Iran, about 500 miles south of Tehran. He was part of a program that sent American doctors and agriculture experts to developing nations,

and Jarrett was born in 1956 at Nemazee Hospital, the brand-new hospital for which he father worked. They lived in Iran for six years, and moved to England for one year before returned to Chicago and settling in Hyde Park

Here’s the US Attorney of the Southern District Preet Bharara’s complaint against Democratic mega-donor Hassan Nemazee, the chairman of Nemazee Capital Corp. who was arrested today on charges that he used phony documents to trick Citigroup Inc. into lending him up to $74 million.

Nemazee is perhaps best known as a fundraiser for both President Obama and former Sen. Hillary Clinton.

He also served as national finance chairman for the DSCC when it was headed by Sen. Chuck Schumer, which is sort of ironic, considering that Bharara was, until very recently, working as chief counsel to the senior senator of New York.

Nemazee has maxed out in contributions to both Schumer and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, giving them a total of $4,800 each (two $2,400 checks to Schumer in April - one for the primary, one for the general - and two of the same amount to Gillibrand in June).

Woops. I missed some additional contributions. Nemazee gave Gillibrand $1,000 in 2005 and another $1,000 in 2006. He gave two $2,000 donations to Rep. Carolyn Maloney in 2005. There was also $151,700 to the DSCC between March 2006 and March 2009.

I’m still awaiting word on whether this money will be returned.

Jarrett’s ties to the University of Chicago are longstanding.

Her father, James Bowman, is Professor Emeritus in Pathology and Medicine at the University and the first African American to be tenured in the Division of Biological Sciences. The University’s Bowman Society, which promotes minority health care and diversity in the biological sciences, is named after him.
