Mother Jones, the left-wing magazine that released a controversial video of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's remarks to a fundraiser in May, now admits that it has no full tape of what Romney said, and that its video is missing "one to two minutes" at the most important moment.
The Legal Insurrection blog's William Jacobson and The Blaze both raised questions on Tuesday about whether Mother Jones had, as promised, revealed the full video, given an apparent jump cut in the critical section of Romney's remarks.
"Something is missing. Romney’s 47% answer was cut off before completed, and is not picked up on the Part 2 audio video," Jacobson noted.
Late Tuesday evening, Jacobson obtained the following comment from David Corn of Mother Jones:
According to the source, the recording device inadvertently turned off. The source noticed this quickly and turned it back one [sic]. The source estimates that one to two minutes, maybe less, of recording was missed.
Corn was forced to update his original post, which promised the "full" video, to reflect the fact that a key portion of the video is, in fact, missing.
There is no way to know, without the missing footage, exactly what Romney said. On Monday evening, Romney called for a complete video of his remarks to be released.
That now turns out to be impossible, either because Romney's remarks were never recorded in full (as Mother Jones now claims), or because some of his remarks--perhaps mitigating some of the controversial effect of his statements--were selectively edited out of the tape by Mother Jones or its chain of sources (including former President Jimmy Carter's grandson).

We don’t need the missing segment. If you read what he said carefully, there is absolutely nothing wrong, or even controversial, in anything he said (well, okay, the comment on the Palestinians may be controversial, but not wrong, IMHO).

Why is romney focusing on this bootleg video that may have been illegally recorded. He should ignore this crap, get on message and ask if it is true that obama did not allow bullets for security in libya on 9/11 and ask for an investigation.
A: The details are very simple. The current regime has done everything in it's power to strip this county of opportunities to get a job or to create a business. In the minds of these people, the only way to get votes and stay in power is to remove the ability for persons to be independent. To remove the freedom that is the natural by product of self suffiency. To coerce and force the down trodden to vote for evil so as to be fed. Blackmail them to vote for self imprisonment so as to be roofed.
In the America that I know, a person has the right and opportunity to push free enterprise so as to provide jobs and opportunities. In the America I know, a person has the ethical responsibility to support a family and provide for their futures, they have a moral responsibility to help their neighbors and friends who need support until they can progress into a position of self reliance. In the America I know, there is no obligation whatsoever to work so as to support people who won't work. There is no obligation to work to support persons who simply stroll into the country, never intending to become an American, their only intent is to take the money of those who work to support their spouses and children, and themselves.
Redistribution of wealth is simply another way spell the word THEFT.
If you want a booming economy, all that has to be done is put a stop to the massive theft of the working man that this unknown person who has stolen the oval office has orchestrated.

Also agree with everything Romney said. It's clear from the comments the Ghost of Rosemary allowed to remain that his campaign is focused on the small (5%-10%) segment of independent voters who tend to rely on emotions (voters who find tough talk and "negative" campaigning emotionally disturbing). If he throws out red meat to his base, he risks turning off the slim margin of independents he needs to win, because the Obama Enemedia Spin Complex distorts, exploits (and apparently edits) everything that comes out of his mouth.
Thanks for fixing it! That’s something that came to my mind - what are Florida’s laws wrt secret taping? Also, apparently there was no taping allowed at Obummers big night with Beyonce & JayZ last night. Were there any signs posted or oral notices at Romney’s event that called for No Taping?

If the missing part is so important, why didn’t Romney say he was taken out of context?
I think this 47% stuff is just the tip of the iceberg. Went to the motherjones site and they claim to have a tape of Romney saying that if there was another Iran type hostage crisis, he would take advantage of it for political gain. And they claim to have other tapes. I think we are in for a steady drip, drip, drip of early October surprises.
I keep tellin’ folks, guillotines from orbit, it’s the only way to be sure to clean up this fifth column mess ...

One thing to note is that there is one “domestic issues” and one “foreign policy” debate. I bet obama is regretting that format now! LOL.
You know what the real shame is??? Social conservatism cuts a swath through that 47% that he claims he cannot reach. But he has shunned social conservatism. So they just gravitate to the one who benefits them economically — and that’s not Mitt.
