W.H.: Obama is 'president of all the people,' not the 47 percent

Reacting to a video of Mitt Romney calling 47 percent of Americans dependent on the government, White House press secretary Jay Carney said that the presidency is about representing everyone in the country.
"When you're president of the United States, you're president of all the people," Carney said. "What unites us as Americans is far greater than what divides us."
Carney would not see whether President Obama had seen the video — which has dominated the news cycle of the last day, but did say that Obama disagrees with the fundamental premise of Romney's statement.
"Setting aside what Gov. Romney thinks, I can tell you that the president certainly doesn't think that men and women on social security are irresponsible or victims. That students are responsible are victims. He certainly doesn't think that middle class families are paying too little in taxes," Carney said.
Carney said that Obama's policies and many of the decisions he has made as president were made without consideration for rewarding political constituencies.
"He didn't ask whether auto workers were supporters. He didn't ask whether auto executives were supporters. He did what was right," Carney said.
Carney also brushed aside comparisons to a similar incident where Obama said that rural voters get "bitter" and "cling" to guns and religion.

First of all, he bailed out GM for the unions which he knows are his supporters. Secondly, he is not my President so that statement that the wimp Carney made is false.
Carney knows that Obama is very much aware of what Mitt said and it obviously struck a nerve.

I’m different. I DID give him a chance even after ‘bitter clinger’, ‘punish your enemy’ but after ‘you didn’t build that’, He’s lost me, a small business owner. And as a matter of fact, if this guy is reelected, he’s lost the benefits of my business. I’m CHANGING everything. I got left behind the last time. I won’t make the same mistake twice.
Mitt: drop the gloves and start swinging back. Every idiotic comment coming from the Marxist’s campaign needs immediate rebuttal. And say it clearly just like you defended your 47% comments. I believe Americans will respect conviction and honesty in times like these.

He’s not my president. He’s called me an enemy and his administration has characterized me as a potential threat because of my conservative beliefs. He has told his people to get in my face and bring a gun if necessary.
