House Minority Speaker Nancy Pelosi laughed off the chances of a Mitt Romney presidency, while trumpeting the possibility that Democrats will retake the House of Representatives, during an interview aired Sunday on CNN.
Pelosi, speaking with host Candy Crowley on State of the Union, pointed to one issue in particular that she thinks will deliver the House to Democrats: Medicare.
We have been saying there are three important issues in this campaign. And in alphabetical order, they are Medicare, Medicare, Medicare, she said.
On August 11, when Gov. Romney chose [Rep. Paul D.] Ryan, that was a pivotal day. That is the day things really changed, she added, attributing the Wisconsin congressmens own controversial Medicare proposals with bringing the program back to the forefront of the election-year debate, and in her opinion, putting the ball back into the Democrats court.

No I do not have a positive attitude. I am incredibly sad America has come to this place.
I come to FR to vent and talk, that doesn’t mean I do it in church. IF you noticed, I simply asked people’s opinions. I did not tell anyone in my church my opinions. However, if I am asked, yes I will say them.
My politics are an extension of my philosophy, and while I am very polite, I have opinions borne out of my philosophies and christianity. I am careful how I share them, but I do share them. I don’t run my mouth off in my church, but people there know I am a conservative. And I will garner every vote I can for the conservative side, if I can do so with propriety. And if folks in my church are honestly misled, and want to know the truth, I will try to enlighten them. “Keeping politics out of church” is a Johnson doctrine and how we got into this mess. The Dems sure don’t practice it.
And Romney is a HORRID candidate and Obama is a disaster, and you know I’ll waste my vote on Romney. And most people on FR agree with me.
but will disagree that most people on FR don't like Romney..if that is so then I am in error and at the wrong place...been here a long time and did enjoy at one time..couldn't sign off at night until I visited the ‘day in the life of our President’ that is no longer so, but do hope Free Republic will return to what it once was before the ‘hate Romney post’ took on a life here...
have a great week..I am not a mean person, but I have become very worried about my country that my dad, brother, and husband served in the armed Forces for..it will be destroyed under another four years of Hussein.
some days I'm thankful I am the age I am...for I know the days ahead are not a many as the days in my past..
