If accurate, the poll indicates that the voters of Missouri are discerning to notice two facts: Akin is merely mistaken, while McCaskill is putrid.

What kind of republicans are they? Rove? Priebus? Coulter?

They represent what the the Republican Party has become, and not what it used to be.

That being the case, I would suggest that being a "Republican In Name Only" has become a good thing, and something to be proud of. A "New RINO" would be a Tea Party person who only keeps his or her registration with the GOP to maintain voting rights in primary elections. I can't see any other reason any more to call one's self a Republican.

In this sense, Romney isn't a RINO, he's a true Republican, just like Rove, Priebus, and Coulter.

Romney may be up by 20 (and damn well should be) in Idaho, Alaska or Wyoming. Missouri — no way.

My E-MAIL to the NRSC

There you go again, your candidate in MO uses the wrong word to cite a fact. The Alinsky cadre of the Democrat party starts frothing at the mouth and you roll over on your backs and meekly plead “ we didn’t mean to hurt your feelings”.
You testicle deprived illegitimate offspring, get up on your hind legs and fight. The best defence is a full out attack.
The Republican party doing what they do best, working doubly hard to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

We Missourians already knew that. The ones who are "discerning" are those who live out of state and don't understand neither the players or the playing field.

Fresh wind I have to agree with you about RINOs and I actually would fit into the RINO category. It’s similar to how the UKIP is the Conservative Party in the UK the Tory Party are the Rockyfellar Repubs.

If Akin wins, maybe that would inspire a TX conservative to enter the 2014 primary against John Cornball; I like that appellation, and I mistakenly contributed to Cornball in 2008.

Akin has just made a campaign tour on the northwestern side of MO... Lee's Summit, Raymore, Harrisonville... I do not recall where he is off to after these stops.

Vicky Hartzler is from Harrisonville, MO... due south of KCMO around a 45 minute drive. She is the sitting US House Representative that replaced Ike Skelton. Her opponent is a female county prosecutor liberal. And Vicky comes from ‘farm’ interest and knows the language, as well as representing Ft. Leonard Wood, a fairly large Army base. I think she will win. Which is also good for Akin on this side of the state, except for KCMO where there is NO hope. The KCMO school system after billions of dollars poured into has lost its accreditation.... Another story ...

What always gets left out of any poll is that this state is about evenly divided among liberals (urbanmites) republican/conservatives, and those Frank Luntz ‘independents’. Claire won in 2006 by getting the majority of those meandering ‘independent’ votes. That is to whom and only whom Claire has been campaigning to over the past year.

Now it is my opinion that it will be whatever ballot initiatives that can get placed upon the Missouri ballot will energize Missouri voters... as well as Obama’s unpopularity. There is to be a ‘healthcare’ initiative on this year's ballot... it will draw out those who are vehemently opposed to Obamacare. IF any poll does not take into account the division of voters, liberal, republican/conservative and independents it is not all that representative.

I think Claire the pretend moderate centrist is in trouble!!!!

I hope when Akin gets to Washington he remembers the leadership in the Republican Party. He might become a spokesman for main street America and ignore the best advice from the likes of McConnell and Boehner.

Kind of like Cruz beat Dewhurst? oh that would be super sweet if Cornyn was to lose to a strong Tea Party conservative.

So...will the McCaskill Supporters keep telling us that “Akin needs to drop out”?

Real Conservatives have stepped up and support Akin

Since McCaskill claims to support veterans..she should support Akin. Todd Akin served as a Lt with the US Army combat engineers and then served in the Army Reserves until 1980; his son Perry Akin served as a marine combat engineer in Iraq (Fallujah) and was trained to locate hidden bombs. So don’t you think Claire should endorse these two good veterans?
