No argument from me.

I am somewhat suprised that people think secular/ethnically Jewish people should care about Israel.

I mean, do people worry about Irish Americans’s votes because of positions regarding Northern Ireland (or whatever)? No. It’s just a non-issue.

Now, as a theological matter I do feel all Jews, secular or not, are connected to Israel, whether they want to be or not. Perhaps that connection is what people (even gentile people, or perhaps especially gentile people) feel -— every knows, in their heart that Jewish people should care about Israel.

Who knows. It’s approaching the high holidays.

Weird things happen this time every year.
