As the campaign settles in for the home stretch, there are many reasons to believe that the Obama campaign will have trouble closing the deal. Chief among them are the numbers: ->snip<-
If you and I are aware of these figures, you can bet that those on the left are, too. And as the election approaches, some will ramp up a sort of domestic "psy ops" -- an effort to convince those disinclined to vote for Obama that he's going to win anyway. Given how much more enthusiastic about voting Republicans are than Democrats, it's one of the only ways they have to demoralize pro-Romney voters in the hopes of keeping them home.
This piece by Politico, titled "Advantage, Obama" is -- intentionally or not -- one of this genre. It reports nothing really new -- only that there are more paths to 270 electoral votes for Obama than there are for Romney. Well, that was true in 2004, in 2000 . . . and, in fact, ever since California and New York became dependable Democratic states. Supposedly, Politico tells us, unnamed leakers "intimately" involved with the Romney campaign say Obama has a "high single digit" edge in Ohio; the RCP average of polls shows Obama ahead by 1.5%.

RUSH: I want to remind you of some history. In June of 1980, basically the same period in the campaign where we are now, minus a month or so, in June of 1980 Jimmy Carter led Ronaldus Magnus 39 to 32. John Anderson, third-party candidate, independent candidate at 21%. Even into August and early September, Jimmy Carter was leading Ronaldus Magnus in the polls. Now, what I'm leading up to is that Reagan won that election in a landslide. Jimmy Carter conceded on election night before the polls in California had closed, 1980. The preelection polls into September did not indicate anything of the sort. In fact, there was not one poll that showed the landslide that happened.
I just went to Drudge and clicked on the picture of Biden with the biker chick on his lap. LOL, NBC Photo Blog says 404, we can’t find the photo you requested. i went to their blog site and the picture is also not there. Guess it makes Biden look bad.
Nice try Obot but the number is personality driven as anyone who has paid attention to O spending spree would know
My point was that the photo has been removed from NBC Photo Blog. I tried clicking on it several times and got the same 404 each time.

I’m an Obot? You may want to consider the possibility that you are mistaken. After Romney is elected and the economy still collapses will you apologize? (Even if both of us were still paying for internet service)
< blushing >
Eeeeewww. Blech.
Believe it or not I know what the media is going to give us,what I am Concerned about is what Romney is NOT saying,Holder Attorney General Cited for Contempt of CongressFor shipping Thousands of Assault weapons to Drug Cartels! I dont want to Hear from him how he will turn INSURANCE companies into another Government giveaway Program,Insuring People who are already sick. That is Not insurance, that is a New entitlement program. If you want to do that say you are setting up a Program to Pay for everyone who is sick, dont make insurance companies raise thier premiums on Healthy people to pay for everyone else, that is OBAMAS agenda
Let them delude themselves so they can sleep at nights a little while longer. Romney is better than Obama, but he is not a conservative and is not what we need. Sure, I will vote for him and toss him a few bucks, but I am not deluding myself. This just...sucks.
No, nothing can overcome the math of the coming economic collapse.
However, WHEN it crashes, do you want a Marxist in power that will take advantage of the situation,
or a capitalist that will try to rebuild the situation?
