Really, really bad time for any union to be striking before the election, especially one that could significantly impact the national economy. Not going to help The One at all. Economy goes further in the crapper, and the folks see once again how union power isn’t necessarily a good thing.
If I were the head of a large corporation being struck right now, I’d do everything possible to keep the strike going right until after election day, and I would seek as much national publicity as possible pointing out how my company was on the verge of failing and the strike might just finish it off, significantly adding to the unemployment situation.
