pretty sad that the individual cops couldnt/wouldnt do anything in the first few hours...except form a skirmish line and saved city hall...
too bad there werent a good percentage of citizens to empty a mag as they flatassed ran punks down on the way back outta the circus...most of the drivers seemed to slow down and avoid hittin em...

They wont starve to death. Not sure where you could find it, but disaster preparedness has been developed to very high levels in our Federal government but even more so in our State governments. Every state can run their own operation.I was in the middle of the Northridge Earthquake. You want to trust the feds and state, go ahead. Me, I'll take care of me and mine.

we don't live in a vacuum....none of us are going to be happy if this SHTF scenario happens...

I agree 100% about supply running both ways. I expect rural folks, fed up with paying for the “parasite” cities, to shoot power line insulators with high powered rifles, cutting them off. Or towers dynamited, etc. This has happened in Peru, notably, during the long Sendero wars. Transmission cables are very vulnerable, and their routes are well known. But the essay was already 5,600 words, and I had to cut of the escalation scenarios at a certain point, beyond which chaos kicks in and it’s pretty much a crash for the population no matter what. Cities will be unliveable. But will refugees be welcomed anywhere?

This essay is largely bunk, a scare tactic screed from the right based on a superficial understanding of the political realities of poverty. Bwahahaha!

True, I have extended family in D/FW and other less rural places but I was speaking of my immediate family. Sorry. It will be bad for lots of them.

Cool heads prevail in the US Military, ask anybody who has been in the US Military.I presume you're referring, for example, to the high-level military officers who acquiesced to The Won's directive that "Afghanize" Afghan security faster than applicants could be background-checked, resulting, per recent formal admission, that this has led to the deaths of roughly 15 Americans just in the last month.
Those cool heads, who, when told "Jump", ask "How high?" on the way up?
(By the way - I've been in the US Military, and am unimpressed with what I'm seeing.)

In the second place beggars do not revolt when people stop dropping coins in their cups. They get help in the form of a job or a better grift. You seem unable to distinguish between a gradual, guided change in lifestyle and a near-instantaneous loss of all means of support.

I've long considered it a big failing of the Internet in not having a command that would allow oneself to be immediately face-to-face with people who feel compelled to begin with insults.

Query: In the event of flash mobs and riots, why wouldnt the government simply shut down cell phone service? Easy-peasy.....no more flash mobs. They'll try that to varying degrees, but it will be counter effective, as they depend upon cell service quite a lot as well. Look at hurricane zones. Sometimes, the only effective comms are ham operators. Ham gear is something else to have on hand along with steel and brass.

If we don't shoot them out of reflex when they approach us to combine forces. Look out for the false flags, like the Afghani police and military who pose as allies then turn on us. Ethnicity isn't the only thing you have to worry about. I suspect you'll see a lot of "anarchists" playing in this mix. Certain leftist groups are definitely prepared, and they've been funded for decades.

” Pretty much spot on. Thanks, Travis...
Sobering stuff...”
Travis has laid out a lucid and detailed account of what would likely happen, should the giant welfare hose gets turned off.
Another worry to me is if Obama saw that he was going to lose a priori the election and decided to prime the pump.
The same could happen AFTER he lost, and then decided on a “scorched earth” policy. Nothing is beneath him.

Tell us about please. Your experience seems to be vastly different than mine. The disasters i have been in were all testimonies to politeness and neighborhood cooperation.

I probably have a large advantage over most of the posters as I spent 10 years on my own ranch. I pretty much had to make my own stuff with a welding torch, saws and a woderful folding knife. Even had an attachmenty for my chaisaw that made it easy to make planks from a downed tree.
So i should probably allow for that in my posts.
To: Joe Brower
....with people who feel compelled to begin with insults. You simply set your eyes and mind to read the insult thusly,"Warning, the following is bullshit."
Then simply act accordingly.
