So writes reader Jim, who sends along several photos from the Romney-Ryan rally in Jacksonville which is starting as of this writing. (added: Prof. Reynolds also is posting reader photos)
He further writes: Line for RomneyRyan Jax Landing event two lines both way longer than this appears:
Jacksonville Landing was absolutely electric with I would estimate two to three thousand people screamIng for Romney and Ryan. It was a total blast to be there. It was literally one of the most fun things I have ever done. The warm up speakers included Jennifer Carroll, the African-American Republican Lieutenant Governor of Florida.
Speaking of that, I am surprised at how many African-Americans were there there were a lot.
Tons of military veterans too.
Romney and Ryan both look fantastic up close. Ryan is obviously in superb physical condition and Mitt looks great too. Their speeches were great and covered some of the same ground as their convention speeches, but they also totally hammered Obama for the unemployment rate, the drop in average family income of $4000, which I dont recall hearing before, the national debt, huge cuts to defense spending looming, etc. Mitt also reiterated his 5-point plan. The crowd loved it.
Ann Romney spoke for several minutes too, and she was great.
But the best part was after the speeches were over and Mitt and Paul Ryan came down from the stage to shake hands with the people. Mitt really tried to connect with everyone he could. I pressed forward and eventually got to shake his hand. He had a firm handshake and looked me right in the eye for a split second. I actually forget what I said to him because it was such an insane moment.
I was actually a little afraid because so many people were pushing behind me to get a chance to shake Mitts hand. It was totally insane. Like a mosh pit at a rock concert, like maybe an AC/DC or Led Zeppelin concert!
The level of enthusiasm for this ticket was shockingly high in Jacksonville.
And outside I counted 9, yes 9, lame protestors wearing purple SEIU shirts and screeching unintelligibly. It was perfect.
The 2012 election is going to be 2010 on steroids.
This is the most important election America has ever had.
Obama has been so obysmal that yes, even Mitt Romney with his many faults and wafflings represents a grand relief.
The Democrats have just realized the sharks are circling, and there is already blood in the water....
And they thought it was just going to be another day on the beach.
A ham sandwich was destined to beat Barack Obama, and here it is.
Interesting observation: rally held on ‘Rush Street’. Hmmm? Rush Limbaugh lives in Florida. Hmmm?
This 2012 USA Presidential elections could very well be historic.
I saw part of this on FOX until they went to a talking head.
You wouldn’t have recognized Romney!
He was on fire and had the crowd in a frenzy.
If he had given a speech like this at the convention the place would have exploded.
If he can keep this up AND if he can get some air time to show it he will win over a lot of fence sitters.
He lives further south in FL.
we can just hope that the DNC events are only half empty!
I know that. Just pointing out my observation.
If Mitt can avoid doing something abysmally stupid, he will mop the floor with Obama. Then a furious lame duck Obama will do all the damage he can.
Reader: At huge Jacksonville Landing Romney-Ryan event place is insanely packed

It sure looks like a rock concert scene.
This week coming he can start. Stand back Mitt and let the FREAK SHOW in Charlotte NC begin!
Well, Mitt will be just about anybody’s huckleberry if they give him a sufficient reason to do it. And it looks like the “severely conservative” heads have prevailed with Mitt. For the present time at least.
It is time for all red blooded Americans to make the most of Mitt’s Play-Doh waffle. An ideological fortress like Ronald Reagan, Mitt will never be. But there is an opportunity that Barack Obama would not have permitted unless literally broken and swept out along with Slow Joe.
If Mitt can avoid doing something abysmally stupid, he will mop the floor with Obama. Then a furious lame duck Obama will do all the damage he can.
