Yes, I did. I admit it.

I cannot really compare it to Obama's presentation, as I purposefully avoid hearing more than soundbites of the man since the '08 primaries. Most of my info comes from reading on FR. My only audio feeds are from Rush Limbaugh and (I admit it) an occasional NPR "news" story.

I haven't seen a lot of Eastwood movies ... Pale Rider, For a Few Dollars More and Escape from Alcatraz (which I saw because Patrick McGoohan was in it).

I will say one thing for picking Eastwood, he is one of the very few VERY white guys that the homeboys admire (at least his movie persona). No one would say that Eastwood isn't cool.

That would be a difficult meme to promote - everyone who works in any branch of media/entertainment, from the janitor at the weather channel to Jay Leno to the second assistant stagehand at the high school drama club knows that the finger across the throat is sign language for “stop” “cut” “over” when a performance is or should be coming to an end.

At least Maher pointed out a hypocrisy....all the talk of conventions being boring, scripting and script writers...and someone goes out there without a net and does a “real” presentation....and they say it was a disaster.

You can’t have it both ways.

At least in this case Maher disagreed with the content and didn’t lie about the presentation.

I didn't watch 1 minute of the convention production.

However, I did watch Eastwood's speech on youtube. He did alright for some guy in his 80s, and made some good points.
