Here are excerpts of the remarks Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney plans to deliver this evening in Tampa, Florida:
Four years ago, I know that many Americans felt a fresh excitement about the possibilities of a new president. That president was not the choice of our party but Americans always come together after elections. We are a good and generous people who are united by so much more than divides us.
When that hard fought election was over, when the yard signs came down and the television commercials finally came off the air, Americans were eager to go back to work, to live our lives the way Americans always have optimistic and positive and confident in the future.
That very optimism is uniquely American.
It is what brought us to America. We are a nation of immigrants. We are the children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the ones who wanted a better life, the driven ones, the ones who woke up at night hearing that voice telling them that life in that place called America could be better.
They came not just in pursuit of the riches of this world but for the richness of this life.

Every family in America wanted this to be a time when they could get ahead a little more, put aside a little more for college, do more for their elderly mom whos living alone now or give a little more to their church or charity.

I don't think it has been proven that Barak IS a Christian.
Is there a baptismal certificate? A birth certificate?
“Yawn.”
Enthusiatic much? Boring person?
Mitt is a validated Temple Mormon, they face an interview every two years and are verified to comply with the requirements of the heaviest devotion to Mormonism, including turning in a minimum of 10% of their income to the church.
They are reissued ID every year that they qualify in this level of devotion, this entitles them to enter the Temples, and be a member of the secretive Temple operations for instance, normal Mormons cannot enter them, and were unable to witness Mitt’s temple marriage for example, (as were Ann’s parents).
Mitt has been a Bishop, and the Stake President over all the Bishops of his region, his duties and powers included, awarding and denying Temple status which is the path to becoming a God, and excommunications of Mormons deviating from the religion (in Mormonism, you are either in, or out).
When Mitt wins, I wonder where there will be more crying: here, or at DU?
I read comments...feel like I’m reading comments from DU, MSNBC, or CNN!
That is where the majority are.
Guess what? Mitt Romney will be the next President. He could quit being a Mormon tomorrow and you would still shoot out your vitriol. So all I can do is chuckle to myself at your impotent anger and unite with my fellow Americans to elect Romney/Ryan and as conservative of a Congress as possible to hopefully keep everyone honest.
Then you have no point of reference and thus nothing possibly constructive to add to the conversation at hand. BTW-the speech was a home run.
LOL, believe me, I truly accept that you are thrilled to have had William Weld’s man prevail as the GOP presidential candidate.
Both you and deadrock are right.
Bush was bad enough. Romney will be far worse. We would probably be better off focusing on the House, Senate, and local races.
Whether Mittens wins or Obama wins, we are going to need conservatives in large numbers in Congress to stop Obama or Romney. When Bush was in, too many Rs gave him the benefit of the doubt and went along with the out of control spending, “nation building”, Medicare Part D, creation of DHS, creation of the TSA (and agreeing to let it unionize), bad affirmative action cabinet appointments, and a lot more.
At least with Obama, everyone is clear on who the enemy is. I’m afraid that with Romney, we’ll go along to be “loyal”, which just means we’ll be cutting our own throats.
“My family didn’t immigrate, but Mitt’s did”
Sooo your family still lives on the reservation? Unless your family was aboriginal, they immigrated from somewhere. But you don’t care, you do seem to like vomiting on these threads don’t ya?
I wish Condi was the nominee. Her speech last night blew me away, and she wasn’t using any teleprompters.
Of all the reasons in the world, you pick his mormonism as the -big- issue for you? Really...?
So do you have the courage of your convictions to just go ahead and vote for Obama? Until you do, you’re just making noise.
So vote for Obama and quit yer bitchin’.
Mitt was a liberal governor. Mitt now promises to be conservative.
Mitt might be a conservative president. Obama won't be a conservative president.
Obama must go.
Where have you been for 6 years, mostly it is his liberalism, wanting to homosexualize the military and Boy Scouts, and his radical, pro-abortion stance, and such, but sometimes his role as cult leader comes up also.
The best thing about a Romney win would be the tantrum on the left and the anger of Obamalini and his lovely wife.
snicker
Aside from your racial opinion that all Indians live on reservations, (as if you think the Palins live on a reservation), Citizens of their nation were not immigrants, they were merely moving to a different portion of their nation's soil.
I won’t vote for Obama, but the GOPe does appreciate reliable votes like yours so they can keep serving up Fords, Doles, Bushes, McCains, and Romneys to sell us out.
