The U.S. military's top officer made statements Thursday which appear to warn Israel that it should not expect U.S. assistance if it chooses to attack Iran's nuclear weapons program.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin Dempsey, said such an attack would "clearly delay but probably not destroy Iran's nuclear program," The Guardian reported Thursday. He added: "I don't want to be complicit if they [Israel] choose to do it."
Dempsey said he did not know Iran's nuclear intentions, seeing as intelligence does not reveal intentions. What was clear, he said, was that the "international coalition" applying pressure on Iran "could be undone if [Iran] was attacked prematurely".

who’s we?
Israel. I’m over here.
I’m worried that the CVG Obama sent to the Gulf is there to interdict any Israeli attack.
Is he for real? Or just playing Mickey the Dunce?
I believe Israel already knows they are on their own as long as the Muslim is in the White House.
The only Jews who don’t know it are the ones who vote for this piece of dung.,or maybe they know it too and just don’t care.
Don’t worry. Elmer Fudd is at it again. Maybe the best thing that could happen to us is a US CVG interdicting Israeli planes right before an election.
Delaying Iranian nuclear weapons would be a good thing. A sufficiently long sequence of delays is for all practical purposes the same as destruction. If Iran could count on multiple, extended delays, it would no longer be cost effective to try to build a bomb.
Agree; I said the same thing on another thread a day or two ago. I am afraid that our assets are there to track Israeli submarines, air movements, and intercept intelligence transmissions in order to stop an Israeli attack or leak the information to Iran and other Israeli enemies.
Hahaha. Good one.
That’s probably why the statement was made. Couldn’t get info and got mad. I thought it’ve been cool if BiBi had been the mystery speaker tonight. What a statement that would have been.
Eastwood will do great though.
“”Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin Dempsey, said ... he did not know Iran’s nuclear intentions”
Is he for real? Or just playing Mickey the Dunce? “
Martin Dempsey=Worthless Pr**k, and Obama bootlicker.
I don’t believe Israel ever expected muslim mac daddy to back them up.
Israel must go it alone as long as the muslim mac daddy is soiling the white house with his cowardly presents.
Besides dealing with this minor,in his view, problem would interfere with golfing, vacation, parties, lying to the American public and getting kickback from his friend he lent stimulus money for failed bussines startups.
Unfortunately, our President doesn’t represent US. Israel should do what it must do to avoid their extermination. Iran has essentially promised to do that. They must be stopped. And as for our general saying it would only slow them down? WHAT THE ‘F’ IS WRONG WITH SLOWING THEM DOWN, DAMNIT!!!
a Romney admin will have to schedule a Pentagon enema as a top priority.
Frankly, I’d love to see Israel take action on the Friday or Saturday before the election. Let Obama reveal all, before we get to bounce his ass out of our house.
Yet, despite all that he’s done against Israel, Obozo still gets 70% of their votes. Someone ‘splain that to me.
“Im worried that the CVG Obama sent to the Gulf is there to interdict any Israeli attack.”
He wouldn’t dare because it would end any chance he might have for election and he knows it. OTOH he may know that he’s going to loose already and if that’s the case you could be right. One last strike for his Muzzie brothers.
As with most things, as long as Obama is out of the way, things will work out fine.
General Dempsey would be well advised to revisit Sec State Rice’s speech from last night.
