I live here in the northern part of the state - and we are SO scr*wed.
California almost daily does something to fiscally shoot itself in the foot. And it is all slowly steamrolling into a giant mess. For cities, counties, pension funds, businesses, etc. and the state.
I seriously don't believe this tax raise proposition will pass, but i have been surprised and shocked at what we have done to ourselves here in the past.
And frankly - it doesn't matter either way . . . we are well beyond the point of saving ourselves. It will take a “ Greece - like” collapse to start the road back. And I doubt anyone will bail us out like Greece - so all that is left is for the misery to begin.

So far it would appear that even our liberal friends will vote against the tax increases. I think the scandal of the state parks and the high speed rail decisions have shown that the state doesn’t need and won’t care for additional money.

I'm just not buying that argument as it relates to CA. After any collapse, CA would still have the same cast of characters.....majority dem politicians, majority welfare recipients, massive number of public employees and their powerful unions.......
