Missouri conservatives rally to Akin, blast Republican “establishment”
Reuters ^ | August 24, 2012 | Nick Carey

(Reuters) – Missouri conservatives say they are rallying around U.S. Senate candidate Todd Akin despite his controversial comments about rape because they are outraged that “establishment” Republican Party leaders tried to railroad him out of the race.

A backlash has set in here in Akin’s suburban St. Louis congressional district, where supporters said the national party had no right to attempt to force out a duly-elected candidate.

...having your opponent sue to get your divorce records unsealed...
Educate thyself!
Ryan file a bombshell
The papers were released by California Judge Robert Schnider following his decision last week to unseal portions of the Ryans' divorce file.
Attorneys for the Tribune and WLS-Ch. 7 sought release of the records, but the Ryans had fought disclosure because they said it could harm their son. The Ryans decided not to appeal Schnider's ruling.

His "opponent" didn't sue to get them unsealed, the media did.

Why don't you just admit that you're shilling for McCaskill and be done with it PhatHead? There is obviously no reasoning with you and I'm finished beating this dead horse. Akin's comment is like nothing obama and mccaskill have teamed up to do to America and if you think throwing Akin out because you didn't like something he said is good for America then we are through speaking to one another. I have better things to do with my time than to engage in vain babblings. Most Freepers, and thankfully Missourians are reasonable people. They're not going to let one little controversial, misunderstood statement overwhelm the focus of our mission to remove all liberals, be they demoncraps or republicans from the House and Senate.

The days of you moderates (aka liberals) running things and bulling good hard working Americans into submission is over. We're fighting back so deal with it.

Ciao

Ryan should have thought of that BEFORE he went to that S&M Club.

Regarding said club, I know only that it's been at various different addresses over the years, but it keeps popping up.

We went with friends to NYC to see their daughter's graduation ~ she lived in an older building but it was "Safe" ~ or so we thought. On the way into the lobby we walked by that club immediately adjacent to this residence.

My friends who were aghast said it hadn't been there the three or four weeks before when they'd visited!

It's shortly after that visit that the Ryans made their fateful visit.

Knowing that it relocates regularly I wonder how it was Ryan knew where to go and why. Was he a regular perhaps?

No, I'm not. Haven't you got anything besides innuendo?

You figure it out.
I've already posted what I thought her reaction would be.

"You stop running those ads about me, Claire!"
"Bite me, Akin, I'll run anything I want."

"Tell your Party members not to cross Party lines in an open primary, Claire."
"Bite me, Akin, they can vote any way they want."

Just how hard is it for you to guess how she might have responded if she were asked to stop running her ads?

The one about the survivor "Frank "Hall" Finckle"?

Yes, except I fell asleep right after the discussion of how 'secret' the reality was kept from Custer's wife... did not get to that one lone survivor. It was pretty stomach turning to hear what was done to Custer's men.

Yeah, the American Indian way of life seems pretty foreign even by today's standards.

Aside...while it's well known that the Indians mutilated the bodies of their opponents in warfare did you know that scalping was something Europeans brought to America? It was a means of showing that they had killed those they were paid to kill.

I don't plan on moving there to live so I won't be doing any campaign work there. I don't want to live anywhere but Texas.

So we cannot even call you a 'community organizer'?

And? How many where there before all of this came about? The same 2?

Honestly I do not know, I have been so busy making salsa the last time I was out and about was to go vote. And signs for all state wide candidates were everywhere... except for one lone Texan, 'RonPaul'. Oh, I did come across this morning going a different direction 2 Oromney signs.... but none, not one Obama sign to be found either day. Not even where, year in and year out, liberals put out signs for liberals in their yards.

Akin comes from across the state from me... could be the reason for lack of campaign workers. They might all be from his congressional district.

I never said that I had such a right nor did I imply that I did. Where am I "bullying", as you put it, you or anybody else or telling you, or anyone else, how to vote? Please post the specific reply.

I am pro-life, and I found Akin's words offensive and a complete turn OFF, considering it is the moderates he needs to get out in numbers to WIN.... I consider it 'bullying' people when the candidate sunk his own campaign to pretend he did not cause this wounding all by himself.

I have patiently waited 6 long years to defeat the crazy commie Claire, and I do not appreciate a General Custer type attack when one is already 11 points up in the polls.

So how is it that you single me out for your diatribe when there are others who are also not from Missouri who are also commenting on this contrived event?

I have NOT singled you out. I am responding to those out of state internet warriors to put their money where mouths are, figuratively.

I want Claire defeated NOT some amateur hour campaign handing her a victory.

To care about the child conceived in rape is to care about the act of rape. To Kill or not care about the Killing of a child cocieved in rape is to hardly care at all.

Akin created the 'incident', because if you read further ---

Perhaps McCaskill's most daunting problem, though, lies with independent voters, a group she once claimed.

What part of this do you NOT get... Liberals and republicans are about equally divided in this state. One needs the majority of 'INDEPENDENT' votes to WIN!!!

Have you never watched the 'Independents' hooked up to Frank Luntz's emotion meters? Obviously Akin does not know they exist, because he sure was not talking to them when he said what he said.

Claire is NOT a 'legitimate' moderate, she is trying very hard to play one though.

"Knowing that it relocates regularly I wonder how it was Ryan knew where to go and why. Was he a regular perhaps?"

Whatever the reason a bunch of anally retentive schmucks were unwilling to hear him out but instead forced him to withdraw effectively giving us barack hussein obama. It can be said that that one event was a major turning point for America. Because short-sighted dimwits were unwilling to give Ryan the benefit of the doubt our nation as a whole is seriously on the verge of collapse. We have a chance to put a real Conservative into the US Senate from Missouri and we have bone headed assclowns trying to turn an innocent, truthful statement into a matter of national security.
I'm sick of it. I wish there was a way to purge our ranks of all the "moderates (aka RINOs/liberals)" in our party or to start a real "Conservative" party. It needs to be named the "Conservative Party" and only "Conservatives" should be allowed to join. I believe people would be surprised at how many Conservatives have turned their backs on the whole process because of jackass moderates in all parties.

I'm ranting. Sorry. This is just some of my personal opinions.

To paraphrase, it had nothing to do with the tangent he went on. He owns it for putting it out there.

Akin “from what I understand from doctors, it’s really rare”. That’s a prediction on probability no one could know the answer to, does his doctor sources tell patients ‘you really don’t need a pregnancy test, it’s rare’? That’s part of why it’s also offensive, especially coming from a “Mr Know-it-all”.

That it ain’t someone I would want to trust to make an informed decision. Democrats are already at that level.

For now he needs to be drilled on why he should go, it’s for how he said it as a “Mr Know-it-all” without being able to back it up.

We’ve all dealt with this, but worse yet you’ve got to verify everything they say. Has this been a life long habit for Akin? Or was being in spot light of all the attention going to his head?

I've been doing research, and it would appear the facts DO back him up.

And that's all he would have had to do if he wished to address a subject, be informed and know what you are talking about. Akin wanted to be an expert, and he clearly admits later he didn't know what he was talking about. It’s obnoxious to deal with a ‘know-it-all’ no matter what party, even as a friend, co-worker, family member, ect.

I suspect that is true in some rape victim cases. I would never pass my judgement on to any rape victim.

Demand nothing and provide support to rape victims is all anyone can and should ever do. Anything else is no better than leftists shoving their crap down our throats.

It is amazing all this was kept secret from his wife.

Yes, I did know the Indians did not invent scalping.

True. They fit right in with those dictating how a rape victim should handle her trauma.

Every person handles their trauma in their own way. Killing another person is not usually a legal option. Neither is blowing up a building, taking drugs, or defacing public property. That’s the society dictating the limits on acceptable ways for EVERYBODY to handle their own trauma. The only way we avoid that is by allowing everything. Is that what you think would be best?
