If I lived in Missouri, I would vote for Akin this November. However, I still think he should drop out, due to the potential of dragging other GOP candidates down with him. Is it too late for him to go to court and get Sarah Steelman to replace him?

“Stress can make women infertile,

Oh wow that changes everything now we can just call up the nyt/wapost,500 other DBM publications that all slant to McCaskill and show them this and they will become fair and balanced overnight. Now with this staggering news from merry ol' we will get a fair shake and everyone will apologize to Akin and he will win in a landslide! Can't wait. By the way let me know if that happens!!

As I tried to explain before before this is not a fair fight we engage in with the Demoncrats. They use every psyops/brainwash/Alinsky technique David Axelrod can come up with.!

They use astroturfing, triangulation, they lie their asses off and if that doesn't work there is always the moral equivalency argument, "they do it just as much as we do" every time they get caught dong anything wrong. You don't reverse that sh_t overnight with one salvo of truth that we don't have a prayer of getting out in the din of lies they have already spread with only a few weeks to go.Get real. Learn to win elections or salute president obama one more time.

I have come to the conclusion that Akin’s support is not very deep. Just a few national grassroots zealots, that really do not care about ‘winning’.

I live in Missouri, and Claire was ‘done’, until Akin decided to revive her campaign.

I went to sleep last light watching a story about General Custer and could not help but compare the similarities to personalities. I do pray we in Missouri do not have the same end as Custer.

Unless phil has moved recently he is a Texan, trying to interfere with Missouri elections. phil if you have moved to Missouri, welcome, and donate to Akin’s campaign, and get everybody you know to donate double.

Agreed.

Its frustrating for me I have very little knowledge about Missouri politics. But I do have a pretty good take on how the dems win elections. We constantly fall into trap after trap that they set.I'm tired of it! Time to out think these commies or pay a huge price.

Thus far I have come across only 1 Missourian that is an ardent Akin supporter. The rest of these in your face, performing inquisitions as to how 'pro-life' one is, tossing out 'grace from God' to and for Akin, and cursing in the Biblical sense anybody who does not agree do not reside in Missouri.

Missouri is about evenly split with liberals and republicans/conservatives.... then you have that coveted vote, those election deciders, the 'independents'. Those independents are who the candidates are attempting to get.

A dead man's widow got the sympathy vote, when Ashcroft was ahead in the polls for Senate. So might say we are 'good' at heart, but easily deceived, and vote as much about ballot issues as some of the candidates on the ballot.

We are a swing state, and Sarah pulled old lord McCain to victory over Obama in 2008.

I still have a nauseated stomach since I read Akin's stupid ridiculous answer. But, I will vote for him IF that is my only option.

I don’t know what they are worth at this point, they are ancient history.
Their worth is that they would be evidence of your supposition that McCaskill "helped" Akin.

The only one I am concerned with is the current polling.
Yeah, me too.
So why is your link to an article from November 15, 2011?

Here is just one of many.

Oh, you really need to see this current poll!
Poll shows Akin now trails McCaskill in Missouri Senate race

Read my reply 16 , but if you don't get down to the actual poll returns in that article be sure and catch my reply 18 It's a doozy!

QUESTION: If the 2012 general election for Missouri’s U.S. Senate seat were held today, would you vote for Claire McCaskill, the Democrat, or Todd Akin, the Republican?
.....McCASKILL AKIN
White 45....... 46
Black 87....... 2

"Of interest" courtesy ping to you butter.

There's nothing in your reply to comment on except this...

Kind of like posting a link that is supposed to, according to your comments, show a "current" poll when it's actually several months old?

Uhhh...judging by the map on the last election...
2010 General Election...
I would have to say more pubbies in the State.
What's your point?

Who would be swayed by what she said?
Don't you contend that McCaskill's ads swayed Democrats to vote for Akin in the open primary?
Shall I find and post your reply for you as a reminder?

You have a losing argument.
Thanks for sharing your opinion.

I'm still in Texas and yet you've caught me out! Shoot!
All right, I'll admit it. I'm interfering in Missouri elections, just like so many others, by fighting the smear campaign against Akin. (snicker)
Do you wish for me to cease and desist?

phil if you have moved to Missouri...
Well if I had moved to Missouri then I would have already managed to find some way to meet some Missouri FReepers. It's a lot smaller than Texas. {;^)

Akin was up 11 points in the 'polls', and then stuck his foot in his mouth. Then went on an apologizing tour. Left the state to powwow with the Lord's mouthpieces in Tampa... HuckaberryHound notwithstanding... Akin unleashed the hounds from 'ell, and you claim there is a smear campaign against him.... Reality sure is not what it use to be.

So when are you going to come to Missouri and actually do some campaign work? I drove around 25 miles in my neighborhood yesterday and could only find 2, count them, 2 Akin signs.

So because of size you have the freedom to bully us?

I don't plan on moving there to live so I won't be doing any campaign work there. I don't want to live anywhere but Texas.

I drove around 25 miles in my neighborhood yesterday and could only find 2, count them, 2 Akin signs.
And? How many where there before all of this came about? The same 2?

So because of size you have the freedom to bully us?
I never said that I had such a right nor did I imply that I did.
Where am I "bullying", as you put it, you or anybody else or telling you, or anyone else, how to vote?
Please post the specific reply.

So how is it that you single me out for your diatribe when there are others who are also not from Missouri who are also commenting on this contrived event?

Some "passing the time" reading for you...

Claire McCaskill trails GOP candidates in Senate race, poll shows July 28, 2012
Coker predicted that McCaskill's fortunes at this point turn in large part on luck.
"They're going to need a little more than message politics. They're going to have to hope for an incident" that hurts the other side, he said. Missouri, he added, "is still winnable for the right centrist Democrat. ... She had those credentials, but with the sharply partisan issues, she has stood with the president on every big one."

Or you can cast hope aside and create "an incident" where none existed.

WWWTT - Are you seriously calling for another Jack Ryan incident because you didn't like what Akin said?

phathead - "I have no idea what you are talking about."

WWWTT - Gee. How'd I know? Jack Ryan was a Senatorial candidate in Illinois in 2004. His opponent was Barack Hussein Obama. Obama's team did the same thing to Jack Ryan that it's doing here. They whined and sniveled about all sorts of BS concerning Jack Ryan making one personal attack after another until such time that Jack Ryan dropped out of the race. Sound familiar? You are taking petty BS and trying to force a good man out of the race.
Anyway, because Jack Ryan dropped out with about 2 months left before the election the Republican's replacement (Alan Keyes) did not have enough time to launch a strong enough campaign to prevent obama from walking right into the Senate.

You assclowns here are now doing exactly the same thing.
By pressuring Akin to step down you are in essence handing the Senate seat to Mccaskill. You claim that Akin has "damaged" his candidacy by speaking the truth. You are insistent that he, like Jack Ryan, step down. I say you have a hidden agenda and it does not include having Conservatives gaining more seats on Capitol Hill.

Now do you know what I am talking about?

If not study a little history and learn how foolish it is to railroad good, decent, Conservative Christian men and women. Or..... Open your mind, read this thread and see what others are saying in support of Akin.

Just a thought.

August 22, 2012...Of course, the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee will take no responsibility for the loss if Akin loses.
Whatever happens is never their...(cough...cough...Illinois 2004)...fault.

Now do you know what I am talking about?

I know who Jack Ryan is. Saying something really dumb (as Akin did) is nothing like having your opponent sue to get your divorce records unsealed and reveal embarrassing personal details. It's not even remotely analogous.

Like it or not, when you run for office, your job is to persuade people to vote for you. Akin, in this interview, certainly showed that he lacks that skill. His opponents' financial contributions to his campaign suggest that they probably already knew that.

You can scroll back up the thread and re-read my posts. I don't remember saying he should drop out. But Sarah Palin has, so I'm sure you think she's an "ass clown" dedicated to preventing conservative victories.

Personally, I am simply in stunned amazement that anybody could possibly think his performance in that interview was anything but a head-shaking embarrassment.
