A University of Virginia spokeswoman says President Barack Obama will not be at the university when he comes to Charlottesville on Wednesday. In a statement released Friday, it was confirmed that the university declined the president's request to speak at UVA.
UVA says the Obama campaign requested the use of one of two outdoor venues - the Amphitheater or the Harrison-Small Library plaza. The university declined the request for a number of reasons including class cancellations, which UVA estimates could be more than 186 classes on the second day of school. The other main reason is they would have to take on the full cost of security, and because of university policy and their federal and state tax exempt status, they would have to offer the same opportunity to the other candidate so as not to show favor for either candidate.
Other than the denied request from the university, questions still remain about the where and when of the event.
The Albemarle County Democratic Party blocked off 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on their website's calendar for Obama's visit, but there is still a lot of speculation and uncertainty.
UVA spokesperson Carol Wood confirmed President Obama will not be speaking at the university. Meanwhile, other information coming in Friday is narrowing down the details.
According to the UVA Communications Office, they offered up John Paul Jones Arena, but were told it "was not academic enough" by the Obama for America campaign.
Meanwhile, Albemarle County Police Chief Steve Sellers says they know of a "proposed" location, but can't say where because of Secret Service restrictions. It could be the nTelos Wireless Pavilion.
nTelos Wireless Pavilion General Manager Kirby Hutto tells NBC29 they've been asked to save the date, but nothing's been confirmed.

Hollyweird bailing on Obama too ... just keeps getting better!!

IOW, they wouldn't be able to pack the place with young skulls full of mush.
It would appear that a lot of the campaign contributions gathered here and overseas for the past 3 years by the Great ObamaNation have been pocketed in true Chicago style.
And don’t let Zippy show up at Monticello, either.
Jefferson might just raise up and slap him silly.
Jiffy Lube Pavilion in Bristow Virginia seems appropriate.
I LOVE my state....
Damn straight you’d have to give the other side equal time...
And as a tax payer in VA, I KNOW this Obozo campaign would be slow if not neglectful to re-pay the expenses.
Now all the black churches who allow Jesse Jackson, Sharpton and the like to campaign for libdims need to be under the microscope.
YEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !
Incumbent President
Will publicly speak for Free Security
or something like that as I am sure it could be improved upon.
“I would love to see some of the highly talented photoshop users on this forum make a picture of Barry on the side of the road with a cardboard sign which says

Monk, for when you wake up in the morning. A request from Biblebelter.
That's awesome that the university recognizes the genius of Led Zeppelin.
Ha ha ha, true! ;^)

First there was the "Rude Reuters Photo" and the O-I-H-O Photo, now this.
I am getting the feeling Obama is being tossed under the bus!
I overlooked that one.
These rebukes and rebuttals to the entire "Obama ideology" of "redistribution" would make perfect billboards on roads leading to Charlottesville.
Thanks.
My favorite Jefferson quote — it is inscribed around the cupola in the Jefferson Memorial.
"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time: the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them."
Try as they may, so-called "progressives" cannot top that assertion by any "redistribution" or "choice" ideas they may propose.
Our lives and rights are antecedent to any prerogatives they may assert as they rely on Marxian and "other" ideas.
The ideas of Jefferson are the ideas which, according to him, reflected "the American mind" in 1776, and they are the ideas essential to individual liberty and opportunity.
Wow! I can understand NBC or other “mainstream” media gleefully reporting this if Bush was Prez, but doing it to Zero? Just wow!
