He’s such a winner the dims sent him money in the primary. They knew this goober was an easy mark and they were right. But I guess Sarah Palin is an establishment Republican and should just butt out.

People need to stay out of this race.

Let the people in Missouri handle this. They know the people more so that we all do. The Tv radio talkers and mostly the Gop-e have made this into a crazy disaster. I think this is a look into how Romney will do things as he did in Massachusetts. Also, the ones who are screaming the most; may end up with a hand picked Gop-e moderate that will beacon to the party machine. Unreal, that we have someone who is authentic (made an gaffe-apologized-ask for forgiveness even) and some are still making trouble. Palin misfiring over comments getting a third party set up and Coulter with her 9th grade paper idea. I hope the man hangs on and wins. It;s been disgusting to watch how the people in leadership are behaving. I don't care he made a gaffe. He's been punished enough for heavens sake. Crush that woman out of office, goal one.

Even if you agree with his principles, you shouldn’t vote for him because of the Idiot factor.

The dude meant non-statutory rape. If he couldn’t figure out that saying legitimate rape would imply illegitimate rape, then he is an idiot.

The liberal press will now build Akin up. They KNOW ALREADY HE IS UNELECTABLE. The liberals WANT AKIN IN THE RACE.

Every conservative of note has said that Akin should step aside.

Akin is down 10 points.
McCaskill has more ‘dirt in the can’. She is desperate to keep him as a candidate and she was whining about pressure on Akin. Like Akin’s her little pet.
Akin raised $100,000 he says ... McCaskill has $10 million.

Akin is crispy toast. So who are these lemmings willing to throw their lot in with Akin, instead of talking sense to him and get him to do the right thing and let Brunner or Steelman run this race?

The news media and the DNC (one and the same) will stoke this fire for all it’s worth. Todd Akin is no more than a garden variety politician. He is a tool that exists to be bought and sold. So there should be no regret in discarding him.

There are plenty of intelligent, articulate opponents of the killing of unborn children. Todd Akin is not one of them. He’s already demonstrated that he’s a fool. He’s now busy demonstrating that he is perfectly willing to place his self-interest ahead of any cause or principle he claims to support. Come to think of it - he’d fit in perfectly in the Senate.

47% of likely voters in Missouri now have a "very unfavorable impression" of Akin.

Todd Akin has done more to bolster the DNC in one flaming stupid moment than Obama or Biden has been able to do for themselves in the last month.

.... where supporters said the national party had no right to attempt to force out a duly-elected candidate.

Are they trying to overturn two elections too, Mr. Carville? Oh wait, that was the Bill Clinton talking-point. My mistake; this is about Todd Akin.

I fear for the nation if voters are truly this naive.

He can't win. They have to decide what matters more to them: Akin's ego or their agenda items. We know what Akin's answer has been so far, and, of course, that mysterious and secretive CNP (Council on National Policy) group as well.

Of his big primary endorsers, we know where Huckabee stands but I noticed Michelle Bachmann has stayed silent despite endorsing him in the primary. "We're not offering any comment on Akin right now," her campaign says.

I wondered how long it would take the good folks of Middouri to recognize what was happening.

I sent Akin’s campaign an email a couple days ago, encouraging him to never quit. If he’d duck and run for cover over poorly choosen, stupid words, he’d die a thousand deaths in the Senate.

I would think that the republican establishment would do all they could to support this guy against clair mckill. After he is in, wouldn’t he vote the right way? Isn’t that what counts? Mckill worships zero just keep the photos up.

Finally! Sheesh the guy could win if conservatives stop talking about how horrible his statement was. Instead of complaining, they should get behind him and start talking his voting record.

They don’t have a clue. It doesn’t matter what he meant to say, or whether it was right or wrong. What matters is that they are guaranteeing the election of McCaskill if Akin stays.

It doesn't matter... one more poll like the one rasmussen released yesterday and he will be gone. Life is highly unfair at times... but perception is reality in politics and reality in this case is a b!*ch!

I support Todd Akin.

I can’t vote for him, but I can certainly support him.

I WILL NOT be pushed by the democrat party!

I WILL NOT be pushed by the idiot GOP!

And I WILL most certainly not be pushed by a bunch of idiot FReepers.

Yeah, I said it, and I damn well mean it.

I'm not sure exactly how biologically ignorant the Senator actually is. He might not be aware of the details, but perhaps his notions should be given a bit more credance.

Here are two articles posted to FR recently.

Stress signal causes abnormal implantation location and pregnancy loss

 and

Stress Puts Double Whammy On Reproductive System, Fertility

Now, unless one is willing to say that rape is not stressful, then perhaps the body does have a natural defence against it.

While I don't particularly care about the senator in question because I don't know anything about him to speak of, I might just start spamming this information to relevant threads. He may will be an idiot, but he could be right as well.

A backlash has set in here in Akin's suburban St. Louis congressional district, where supporters said the national party had no right to attempt to force out a duly-elected candidate.

That's awesome !!
