Believe what? That McCaskill ran ads to motivate her kooky base painting her opponents as overly conservative because the clown was desperate to win. Yeah, since she was way behind in the polls and politics is a religion to her and Democrats.

Interesting dichotomy you express. Support Romney even though he is a progressive liberal because he's the presumptive Republican nominee. Throw Akin under the bus for a verbal gaffe (for which he apologized) even though he is a staunch conservative and no longer presumptive but the actual nominee.

That’s a 20-point swing. while I believe in Providence, at some point I would think you get the clue it’s not to be and not part of your destiny.....I guess he hasn’t gotten that yet.

aaaaahhhhhhhhh - so it seems the ABR’s now have a new cause and avenue to get Obama a second term - support Akin and keep this freak show going on.

So, the next question is....can the GOP really afford to continue selecting babbling idiots like Akin to represent the Republican Party? We, as a nation, barely (it ain’t over yet) survived McCain, Snowe, Colins and other RINOs in the GOP.

Putting folks like Akin in positions of power over our lives and futures isn’t very bright. It’s not enough for us to be in the right and on the side of truth. We’ve got to be smarter and better at this political game being played for our very lives that we find ourselves involved in. I am just not seeing that “brightness”, however. I do see Ryan as a brilliant pick, but with crap like this Akin fiasco happening, it’s taking the glow off of that bright....fast.

And don’t think the leftists will not connect Romney to this Willke doctor now. It’s the whole point behind the “”gaffe”” being made by Akin, IMO. Again, I don’t believe it was a case of misspeaking on Akin’s part. That would be just too pat and convenient, timing wise, for the left. And I never underestimate the left and their capability re: running a dirty campaign.

I think we have a plethora of yet undiscovered traitors in the GOP. Remember Jim Jeffords.

You may think it is unfair, but some here may make the conclusion that you are working for McCasKILL. Can you blame them?

Yes, I can. That conclusion is nearly as idiotic as the claim some have made that Akin was bought and paid for by the Democrats so as to produce a voting record like the one that defines his exemplary political career. It's ludicrous and I do wish for more than knee jerk analysis from those on FR.

Rassmussen stands out for not having skewed weighting, and its state by state Obama/Romney polls have generally been much more favorable to Romney than others.
Good for them. Judging by your "skewed" comment though you're at least willing to admit that there is weighting going on to some extent.
I'd still like to see the numbers as they freely admit they weight/sample their polls.

Doesn't such information interest you in light of recent discoveries concerning that issue?

"aaaaahhhhhhhhh" - so it seems ABM (anything but McCaskill) doesn't apply to ABO (anything but Obama) types. I guess its okay for you to spout ABO in order to advance progressive liberal into the Executive Office. But you shudder to spout ABM in order to advance a staunch conservative to the Senate. That is a very strange disparity for a self-professed conservative to have ...

Akin has less than zero chance of winning vs. McCaskill.

ABM would mean him dropping out and getting someone else, whoever however, that actually does have a chance to win.

What difference does it make where he stands on the issues when he has made himself completely unelectable?

A woman experiencing chronic, high levels of stress can certainly have problems with conceiving or successfully completing a pregnancy, but that’s not the same thing as the stress caused by a singular violent incident.
And? Long term/chronic stress causes lower cortisol production (hypocortisolism), not higher production like that in the singular incident.
Yeeeeees, I've seen that "study" too. Had quite a conversation about it too. Would you like a link?

Cortisol and Stress: How to Stay Healthy By Elizabeth Scott, M.S.
Although stress isn’t the only reason that cortisol is secreted into the bloodstream, it has been termed “the stress hormone” because it’s also secreted in higher levels during the body’s ‘fight or flight’ response to stress, and is responsible for several stress-related changes in the body.

Stress: Constant stress puts your health at risk
The long-term activation of the stress-response system — and the subsequent overexposure to cortisol and other stress hormones — can disrupt almost all your body's processes.

Elevated cortisol from stress after the rape can be how a woman prevents herself from becoming pregnant.
How hard is this to grasp?!

Anxiety disorders and salivary cortisol levels in older adults: a population-based study
Conclusion
Older adults from the general population with long-lasting anxiety disorders had a lower cortisol awakening response than those without. This is consistent with the notion that chronic anxiety may result in downregulation of HPA-axis activity. Longitudinal studies are needed to confirm this mechanism.

So your 'fight or flight' mechanism is reduced when you're stressed out all of the time.

No wonder liberals want us all worried all of the time.
If we're "stressed out" all of the time we won't fight back as we naturally would.

This could very well cost us Missouri’s electoral votes

No way. Missouri didn’t even vote for Obama the first time. Missouri is as red as Arkansas.

Brown needs to mock Warren for this ad which will be especially easy to do for him because he is pro-choice. She is running against him not Akin. He should ask if she is confused or if this is her way of avoiding discussion on the economy and Obamacare..

This vast increase in "the powers of prognostication" over the last few days has been simply incredible.

I never knew so many people could predict the future.

The sky in the world in which I live is blue. I recognize political reality and what is possible to accomplish. None of the things that you believe are important to this nation will happen if Obama is elected. With Romney, some of the things will happen. We are unfortunately stuck with him. Let’s try to change him. We can never change Obama.

Most of us are able to recognize the political reality of the damage Akin has done to himself, the pro-life cause, and the chances of taking back the Senate. Supporting him surely leads to the victory of a pro-abort. That means more babies die, not fewer. That is something you do not want but it is the result if Akin stays in the race. Please be intellectually honest enough to admit he has blown it and will not beat McCasKILL. Other pro-life Republicans can beat her. But an intransigent, selfish, and arrogant man stands in the way.

The purpose of a political race is to win. If you don’t, the other side gets to set all the policy. Unfortunately, sometimes there are compromises in order to win. Take the victory and use the influence you can have with your side to try to make the changes you want.

Someone who always stands on principle would have never gotten in bed with Stalin in WW II. Of course, had we not done that, we would not be having this free discussion.

The guy is a certifiable moron. Did you hear the Hannity interviews?

Didn’t Joe Manchin (D) of West Virginia pledge to overturn Obamacare? He did the ad where it got shot with a gun. So we should have his vote on our side if we need one more to make it a tie that would then be broken by Ryan.

This vast increase in "the powers of prognostication" over the last few days has been simply incredible. I never knew so many people could predict the future.

I know it! What I am seeing is the local Tea Party organizers in Missouri are beginning to rally around in defense of Akin. (Maybe I'll post an article on that.) Boots on the ground do not seem to reflect what is spoken by the media (imagine that). I bet the locals in Missouri will be shocked to discover their candidate "can't win" as told by the national media. Missouri will do what's right for Missouri. I believe what's right for Missouri is to stand up for a staunch conservative primary winning nominee (emphasis on the staunch conservative part). It seems a few people on this forum prefer progressive liberals instead ...
