Here is the only card Akin has to play. Meet with the Central Committee, the group that would choose his replacement, and agree to get out if he can choose his replacement. If it were someone who was pro-life and had a chance to win, it is a deal both sides should make.

Add that to the dictionary for the definition of delusion.

“All Akin had to do to win was keep his damned mouth shut for 10 weeks. He couldn’t even manage that.”

Almost none of them can. Their egos are too big. This is much the same thing that happened in Colorado in 2010 with Ken Buck. That Senate seat was virtually a lock for us. But Buck is a fool with a mile-high ego. Unfortunately, his IQ seems to be room temperature. He kept jamming his size 12 cowboy boots into his pie hole, and why, they just naturally stayed there.

If Akin withdraws and gets court order by Sept 25, the Rep. Central Committee could choose GOP replacement. That could be anyone, including those who lost in the primary.

Thanks for clarifying...I was wondering about that.

Actually, the interesting part is that the poster in question is doing (whether as a result of angelic or malevalent motivation) all in his/her power to advance the re-election possibilities of both Barack Obama and Claire McCaskill.

There are several of the same characters. They are clearly malicious relative to their intents. it's clear as day light.

Listen, Romney was my last choice. But I live in realville and he is the only man standing between Obama and four more years... and essentially the ruination of this country.

The martyrdom mentality has no place in this election.

Do you believe the Houston Astros can still win a wildcard spot in the National League?

We have a wonderful candidate, Tea Party conservative who is running for State Rep. seat in Texas who is being compared to Akin as a RW kook. Thanks a lot AKIN.

At the checkout I sked the bagger and the register women if they ever heard of someone called Todd Akin, answer no. I asked my barber, answer no, I also asked my neighbor who owns his own business, answer no.

Is that how you asked? "Ever heard of anyone named Todd Akin?". Sounds like you are asking if they know the guy personally. If you asked if they'd heard of "the senator who made the statement about rape", you'd probably get a different answer.

McCaskill didn’t spend $2 million to fund this guy during the primaries because she thought he was a genius. She knew he was prone to saying stupid things and at this point she doesn’t even really have to campaign, just let him keep running his mouth. Its going to be the easiest re-election for a dead-in-the-water candidate that I’ve ever seen.

“Legitimate Rape” - get used to the that term being rammed right up all our A$%6 till election day.

Akin and his “purity” sheep are delusional and almost clincally psychotic to not see the writing on the wall with this mess.

An even bigger LOL would be taking the whole GOP ticket down with this akin traitor.

Anyone not trying to get akin out now is working for the democrat party.

"Many here will not believe this but Akins numbers will improve from here and should he not drop out"

This is a naive assessment. McCaskill has yet to start campaigning against this guy, she's keeping her powder dry and stringing him along, you can be sure as we get closer to September 25th she's going to start dropping the hammer on him and he'll be lucky to break 35 in the polls by the time she's done. When you're only at 40% against an unpopular opponent and they haven't even started to campaign against you...its a terrible, terrible sign.

Methinks the only way to put this aside is Ann Wagner. Only way to stop the "rape issue." But times 'a wastin'. And Akin still must petition the court and her highness must go along with their decision...

So what if Akin checked into the room next to JesseJacksonJR at Mayo...? There is plenty of evidence out of old Claire's campaign ads that he is incompetent.

Hmm, yeah, shoulda said forcible rape. Not too under to understand what his meaning was, that is if you’re not a flapping clucking chicken running around in circles being chased by democrats.

I can see the writing on the wall just fine.

Republicans will not defend their own, and democrats can take out anyone they want, anytime they want by pushing cowardly republicans to do so for them.

So, who’s next?

Here’s the only way I can see this guy redeeming himself at this point:

Announces the day before the DNC convention that due to the constant pressure the RNC has been exerting for the past weeks that he finally saw the light. He appreciates why the RNC wants him to leave and he will not endorse any candidate in the race only that we must focus on the economy.

DNC has a line-up full of anti men harpies and no means to change the lineup.

It’ll never happen but it would be like 5 dimension chess ;)

Sarah Steelman Gets Pro-Life Women’s Group’s Endorsement

Sarah Steelman, a pro-life candidate seeking to replace pro-abortion Senator Claire McCaskill in Missouri and help pro-life advocates retake the U.S. Senate, has received the endorsement of a national pro-life women’s group.

Today the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund, a national pro-life political action committee, announced its endorsement of Steelman.

“There could not be a more clear contrast between an authentic advocate for women like Sarah Steelman and EMILY’s List darling Senator Claire McCaskill,” said SBA List Candidate Fund President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Having voted for everything from Obamacare to taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood, Senator McCaskill has failed miserably at representing the best interests of women.”

“Missouri women and families are hungry for a pro-life leader like Sarah Steelman,” continued Dannenfelser. “The SBA List Candidate Fund is proud to endorse her and we look forward to adding another pro-life woman to the U.S. Senate.”

Steelman represented Missouri’s 16th District as a state senator from 1998 until 2004. During her time in the state senate, Steelman had a 100 percent pro-life voting record and helped overturn former Governor Mel Carnahan’s veto of the Infant Protection Act. From 2004 to 2008, Steelman served as Missouri’s State Treasurer where she was responsible for more than $19 billion in annual revenue.

Since her election in 2007, Senator Claire McCaskill has voted against every pro-life bill in the U.S. Senate, earning a 0 percent rating with the National Right to Life Committee. Senator McCaskill has been endorsed by EMILY’s List.

Steelman will face Congressman Todd Akin (MO-02) and John Brunner in the Republican primary on August 7 and they hold pro-life positions as well.

Can you name a single gaffe-free politician? Human being in general? Akin apologized. He is a solid conservative, he is the candidate, he is on the ballot. Accept the apology and focus on winning instead of eating your own.
