Rasmussen will be releasing a poll this morning showing Akin costing us dearly in Missouri: McCaskill 48% Akin 38%.
Time to pack it up and stop screwing us, big guy.
Akin seems like he is being paid to take a dive to help obama.
no one, no one could possibly be as nuts, insane, and delusional as the guy we heard on Hannity.
He is not principled, not holy, not to be respected, and is driving us over the cliff w his ego.
“...the RINOs will be blaming us conservatives.”
But, NOT the tea party.
The only saving grace out of this entire debacle is that Aiken was not considered the team party candidate.
Thanks for clarifying (no pun intended) that, DFU. So Brunner and Steelman would be ineligible as write-ins and too late as third-party, but could be selected as the replacement if Akin withdraws. Even so, I do not think either would be the best choice.
Its interesting to see that someone who, based upon his/her posts on this forum, wants to do everything possible to discourage votes for the Republican presidential/vice presidential ticket is now also doing everything in his/her power to keep a sure loser on the ticket as the Republican candidate in Missouria state where it should have been a piece of cake to defeat the Democrat incumbent.
I’m glad you picked up on that. It is interesting, isn’t it. And also very easy to explain. When you look at Romney’s voting history you’ll find an anti-conservative progressive liberal statist candidate for President. When you look at Akin’s voting history, you’ll find a staunch-conservative small government small business candidate for Senate. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to point that out.

Actually, the interesting part is that the poster in question is doing (whether as a result of angelic or malevalent motivation) all in his/her power to advance the re-election possibilities of both Barack Obama and Claire McCaskill.
My view is that the most likely explanation when someone is trying to advance (what is in my view) a malevolent end, they most likely have a melevolent motive. An alternative and plausible explanation is that they simply are a “useful idiot” and really have no comprehension of what they are doing.
My life experience leads me to believe that the former explanation is most likely correct and the latter explanation unlikely.
he can say he is too sick to run and he is stepping down.
Yet again we have become ur worst enemy
Not to mention, I don’t see what being pro-life has to do with thinking women have magical sperm catchers in their uterus that activate upon “legitimate rape”.
Both Steelman and Brunner were 100% pro-life.
Exactly
Ann Wagner, former state GOP chairwoman, former ambassador, and current candidate for Akin's House seat, would be my top choice.
Kit Bond, two-time governor, four-time senator, proven statewide winner, total name recognition, would be my second choice. The only drawback is that he's 73 now and could be seen as old news.
This is my opinion regarding Akin. Akin is a true believer in he is on a mission from God. I have no doubt the man lives and has voted for the 'national' cause.
However, he is politically incompetent. Jesus said to be as harmless as a dove, but, wiser than the serpent. I think his 11 point lead in the polls was what he was marching to, instead of the reality of who he is running against.
I think now this election does not matter to Akin or his national supporters... I think martyrdom would be enough for him and his supporters.
I cannot even speak Akin's 'pro-life' language, however, given it appears I have NO choice, if he is on the ballot come November I will vote for him.
What is shocking to my system is to find a 'legitimate' pro-life candidate causing me about the same level of disgust as the 'pro-choice' GOP-e nominee...
What absolutely makes no common sense is why any pro-life candidate would expect or even complain when the national GOP-e refuses to give them political 'life', meaning dollars.
Methinks Ann Wagner at this point. Nail the "rape issue" shut.
Frank Lautenberg says 'Hi!'!
Akin can be replaced, but it would probably have to be by someone with instant name recognition to Missourians...dare I say pull Ashcroft or god forbid Bond out of retirement.
The people who are going to cost us the election are the cowardly republicans who refuse to back their own.
Akin is radioactive. The commie press will repeat his insane remark 24 hours a day every day until hes gone, using it to try and tar every other Republican in 2012 and to avoid having to report on the economy and Obamas record in general. This is what the commie media have been waiting for: a way to define Republicans as extremist nut jobs, and Akin is their perfect storm. I dont care who he is or what he stands for, Akin has simply got to go. Period.

LMFAO! Who the heck is going to back this psychotic after this? He is radioactive, insane, stupid, incompetent, and delusional.
It’s because the purity caucus has not finished preaching and dictating to rape victims yet. Besides, all those $3 akin donation checks have not cleared the bank yet either. /s
“Akin and his type are delusional and need to realize this freak show is going to take us over the cliff with him.”
Just one more proof that officials in both parties are in it just for themselves. Nothing is more important than being elected or re-elected. Their ONLY true “principal” is getting elected.
When I was 16, on the day before the 1964 election I believed in my heart that Goldwater could still win. The next day taught me something about political reality. No, it is not just a little negative bump. It is political reality. He may have the best voting record of any Republican, but he has as much chance of winning as the Los Angeles Rams have in winning the next Super Bowl. Yes, there is no Los Angeles Rams. That’s the point.
This issue is going to be used across the country. It is going to do damage to conservatives and the pro-life movement. He is an arrogant and egotistical ass. It needs to go away now. He needs to go away now. It is unfair. The media is unfair. But your heart is not allowing you to see political reality.
What exactly was it that he said that is so offensive?
And I’m defending him, although I would not expect republicans to do the same.
In fact, I would expect republicans to eat him.
