I know exactly what their statements say. They are fine
words -- similar to the words used by the Hollywood 10 to exalt the cultural destruction they engaged in 60 years ago, wrapping themselves in the flag and the constitution to promote communism and the destruction of American values in a public forum.
But their actions reveal what they truly are--little wannabe pop-culture icons promoting the Larry Flynt vision of libertinism as the ultimate expression of freedom.
BTW, not surprisingly, one of Pussy Riot's core issues is "gay rights":
