ABOARD A US MILITARY AIRCRAFT US military chief General Martin Dempsey denounced ex-officers Tuesday for waging a campaign against President Barack Obama, arguing that soldiers had a duty to stay above the political fray.
Wading into a potential minefield during a hotly contested White House race, Dempsey voiced his disapproval of a group of retired military members and CIA officers who have accused Obama of spilling sensitive national security details to help secure his re-election.
Asked if the group's criticism was valid or useful, Dempsey, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, said he would not comment on the substance of their allegations.
But he added: "As to the latter, is it useful? No, it's not useful. It's not useful to me."

I will say it in Bidenesque terms. General, I have three letters for you: S T F U
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Oh to be a fly on the wall during the 1st meeting between SecDef West and CSA GEN Ray Odierno......
The military is justly praised and respected by most Americans, but it is also our largest bureaucracy filled with bureaucrats ready and willing to kiss the CinC’s butt and do his bidding in most any circumstance.
Nothing newsworthy about the fact that this general is doing Obama’s bidding, especially not when former military personnel exercise their right to free speech, which they have every right to do.
West would not need to pull his service pistol to handle that. hee hee hee
1st meeting might be the last...
Where was General Martin Dempsey when all those bastard Generals were bitching about Bush? I don't remember him coming to Bush's defense, therefore, he has absolutely no credibility with me, especially since this Administration abused the SEALs and the CIA so with its damaging leaks.
You nailed it exactly!
“It looks to me like General Dempsey is an Obama Toady. What an Idiot.”
Likely the general staff today is filled with field grade officers from the Clinton era.
This general is wrong. It is traditional and historical and legal, that when a person in the military disagrees with a governmental policy or act, that person is supposed to retire and speak out. That is the honorable course. So this political beast wearing a uniform, is playing politics himself- to the disgrace of the country and his uniform.
If that's the case, why is he even commenting on the issue?
And to that list i add, BushI the carrier pilot, Reagan in the Army reserves from 1937 as a private, then activated and commissioned for WWII made training films, Carter nuclear subs, Ford WWII officer in an escort carrier, Nixon Navy WWII could have avoided service entirely as a bona fide Quaker, JFK PT-boats in combat, Eisenhower, Truman WWI Artillery officer, Hoover wasn’t military but was a mining engineer who worked all over the world in bad conditions, and was eyeballs deep in WWI before and after we got pulled in. McGovern wasnt elected but flew B-24s in the thick of the bombing of Germany, Also MacArthur wasnt elected, but he became political too and was celebrated for it.
The fact is, most presidents have had military backgrouds to one degree or another. And the ones that didnt mostly had backgrounds of extreme accomplishment like Hoover.
Former Officers becoming political is practically a tradition. Marxist moslem presidents are not. And almost all presidents early accomplishments make Obamao look like a joke.
Who is this general’s boss?
Oh yeah, Oblameo.
Take it up with your boss, chickenshit!
But it was OK when disgruntled ex-Bush officials were going public trashing Bush after they were fired. Colon Bowel (a.k.a. “The Most Interesting Man In The World”) had no problem running his mouth.
The media couldn’t get those eggheads on the 6 o’clock news fast enough. What a crock that was. When was the last time you heard somebody fired from a company say, “Working there was great! Best company ever! Loved every minute! The leadership was top-notch!”
well played
Yup, you don’t get stars by being a rebel and bucking the system. These guys have whored themselves for an entire career, it’s not like they’re going to stop once they’ve got their stars (unless they intentionally get fired like Gen. Patreus).
We have seen this crap before.
