That's my plain English interpretation of Akin's misstatement. The independent voter will believe much worse in November.
A more correct interpretation would be that a woman's body is less conducive to conception during a traumatic episode, not that her body somehow shuts down entirely to prevent the pregnancy.
Hey Kennard— agree totally. And your plain Engish interpretation should have sufficed. After reading the “That’s not what he said” post, I went back and read what you wrote. You conveyed the essence of what was said, but I figured the other poster must have wanted someone to post the exact quote. So I obliged.
And that way people could compare what you wrote and the actual quote (which I found to be a great deal worse than your summarization).
If only he could have come out and said something along the lines of, “I’m sorry about the wording of that statement, but I happened to be channelling Joe Biden at the time.”
