And here I am thinking that he won the primary by getting more people to vote for him than anyone else.

Exactly. What a jerk. He cares more about his political aspirations than the country.

Now McCaskill is going to skate to re-election. The Rats won't even have to fight for it so they can spend that money elsewhere. Thanks a lot Akin!

What you suggest demonstrates your own version of "tunnel vision." One blunder does not justify a candidate who has won a primary contest, simply abandoning those who worked & supported him in the Primary, because his road has become more difficult.

I do not know what the issues were in the Republican Primary in Missouri. I do not know, were I a Missourian--and this really was my business, rather than merely something I am witnessing--whether he would have had my support in the Primary, or not. But this absolute panic for others, many not from Missouri, either, to force him to quit, is very, very poorly considered.

You are creating a division that does not need to happen. The man needs to counsel with his supporters, make his decision, and then everyone needs to move on. Any other course simply magnifies any damage from his poor choice of words.

Of course, I know that the Leftist Democrats will try to make hay out of this. But people on our side should not be helping them by this internal squabble.

Again, I know nothing about Mr. Akin or any of the other things he believes in--or whether I could personally support him, if I did. I do understand tactics.

Get off your high horse.

He won the primary and is still (post comments) ahead of McCaskill. If he's ahead now, with all the media firestorm, he'll be way ahead in November once things have simmered down. Don't buy the RINO garbage.

For an alleged "devout Christian" Akin is apparently unfamiliar with the sin of pride.
