Rep. Todd Akin, the embattled Senate candidate who used the phrase legitimate rape in talking about abortion and pregnancy, said Tuesday afternoon that he would stick to his decision to remain in the race.

Get out now you egotistical buffoon. You will lose bigtime and drag many more down with you scumbag. Run your ignorant piehole all you want but there is no way to squirm out of your stupidity and future loss.
He has a masters in divinity studies. Beyond that i don’t see much education in his background. That probably explains why Huck loves him so much.
“Also, please try and explain the second part of his comment.”
the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.
Can’t explain that. I’m not a doctor but know how the female body works. :-)
No worries, people like UncleSlayton will take pride in voting for an “ideologically pure candidate”, all while essentially sending an avowed abortionist back to the Senate as a result, but hey, they’ll sleep better at night for it.
Wishful thinking. That same kind of thinking is the ONLY reason Dingy Harry is still Senate Leader. Todd Akin meet Sharron Angle.
Not only that but I think the Missouri Secretary of State has a say in the matter and could muddy the waters. Not that Robin Carnahan would ever use her office to do something like that. </sarcasm>
Get off your high horse.
He won the primary and is still (post comments) ahead of McCaskill. If he's ahead now, with all the media firestorm, he'll be way ahead in November once things have simmered down. Don't buy the RINO garbage.
“That is what is on his Facebook page today, by the way.”
I didn’t know that but just as soon as I read his statement I knew exactly what he was trying to say.
I'm more worried about posters like you not seeing, or realizing, that this was a contrived incident.
“which increases the risk of miscarriage. “
You do understand that pregnancy generally comes before a miscarriage......or how do things work in your world?
agreed!
“Have Steelman do a Murkowski.”
It won’t work. It worked for Murkowski & Lieberman because they had both been Senators FOR YEARS.
And I don’t think either ran in a pres. year (Maybe lieberman did). In a pres. year running a 3rd party candidate really risks getting McCaskill re-elected.
Better to let this schmuck stay on the ticket and HOPE Romney’s got enough coattails to carry him across.
It’s either that or the party goes to court tomorrow to try and dislodge him against his will. But I’m not sure they would even have standing to do that.
He’s really a prideful, despicable pig. And if Huckabee is still supporting him, so is he.
Also, if you looked a little deeper, you’d find that studies show that about 10-15% of pregnancies due to rape result in a miscarriage.

No, he is falling for democrat money and democrat trolls.
Senate seats were historically appointments by state legislatures and/or governors.
Akin’s will be the zombie candidacy of 2012.
Ahead where? In a PPP poll that oversampled Republicans by eight points in order to keep him in the race?
Set aside Akin's appeal to the pro-life voter (and I'm one of them, in Ohio); his complete and utter stupidity in letting the words he spoke pass through his lips is enough to disqualify him for office. He should use his Master's in Divinity to preach, and get the h*ll out of the race.
I think Mary’s right and YOU’RE wrong.
When a person is under attack your entire hormonal balance is completely changed, starting with the adrenal glands that regulate fight or flight. It is not far fetched that the odds of getting pregnant diminish when you’re under duress. Akin said it was RARE, which I agree with.
Now, I’ve seen you fervently, frothingly, posting on all these threads about Akin needing to go. He probably does at this point since there is no funding left but I believe everything needs to take a deep breath and evaluate what he actually said. He said it very poorly but he’s not necessarily wrong.
Like Biden? Like obama and his “57 states”. Talk about stupid. What you mean is ‘politically correct” right? And its ok to not be politically correct in saying that ‘Barack is articulate and CLEAN” That’s freedom of speech but we as republicrats can’t say a physiological provable fact? You’re kidding me right?
He may have won the primary fair and square, but he will lose because of his stupidity.
Control of the senate is the most important issue, not sticking to some antiquated notions of some of the short-sighted purists around here.
BTW, I’m no RINO, but I am a REALIST and above all a PRAGMATIST. I agree with Lombardi that winning isn’t every thing, its the only thing.
