He backed out.....now Morgan’s got some snarky Dem Congress-critter just tearing into Akin and lumping him with Ryan, Romney and the GOP in general.

Didn’t show up for Piers Morgan - first good sign of the day!

Someone should make him watch it so he can see what his actions are causing and maybe he will figure itout that he should leave the race.

This guy is too dumb to realise he is toast. His aids should all quit in mass protest and back the Sarah Palin candidate immediately.

Sounds like he has smelled the coffee.
To bad he had to taint the national race first.

And now he's pulled out of the interview (if there really was one scheduled)...

HOPEFULLY that means he'll pull out of the race so McCaskill can be retired in November.

What the heck was he thinking about going on that horrid show. Morgan is absolutely atrocious, snarky and biased beyond belief, his guests have included one far left nutjob chick and then some Republican airhead blonde who seemed more interest in getting along with Morgan than making a single cogent point. Of all the shows to go on, they chose THAT one?

Its a good thing saner heads prevailed.

Apparently McCaskill bailed on the show as well. Akin was the McCaskill (and Huckabee) backed candidate. The Claire camp knew he'd implode, they are probably just stunned it happened so quickly. She was already on TV today laughably defending Akin against the RNC "interfering" in the state. She is just hoping, praying, counting the minutes till 5 PM tomorrow hoping Akin will stay in the race.

If this guy doesn’t get out by Tuesday 5pm, the GOP must get behind another candidate. I don’t know whether the party can promote an independent candidate and officially disavow Akin, but something needs to be done now. We have a better shot with an Indy in a three way race than by getting behind this dunce.

My humble opinion only, being from up Canada way but there could be a master stroke for the Republicans here.

Governor Romney could tell all and sundry to simply get lost. Followed up with the statement he has bigger things on tap, like winning back America.

The respect from many persons would be like a power surge. (flame retardent suit on).

Oh... you mean Morgan, not Akin...

Thought for sure you were referring to Akin at the beginning.

Worse still, he’s going on Piers Morgan’s show and will do more damage! Somebody pull this guy aside, get him to resign NOW and quietly, then slip away. No Piers Morgan interview!

Some people deserve to be under the bus.
If I were a strategist for Obama I would make Akin Romney’s running mate.

With his cancellation on Piers Morgan, I believe someone has...I’m a native of Missouri, and there were unverified rumors this afternoon that Akin would have a conference call with some of the GOP elder statesmen from the Show-Me State, Kit Bond, John Ashcroft, Roy Blunt and possibly others. Apparently, they were going to tell Akin what the rest of us knew—he’s done, and it’s time to go gracefully into the night.

Assuming Akin takes there advice, the real question is who the Missouri GOP runs in his place. Sarah Steelman is the obvious choice, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they pull a Lautenberg and drag Kit Bond or even John Danforth out of retirement. Personally, I’d prefer Jim Talent or Ashcroft, but Danforth is probably the one guy who could win the election in a walk—unfortunately, he’s a RINO. However, he’s a kid (at age 75) compared to Lautenberg, and infinitely preferable to McCaskill.

That was the only Piers Morgan show I ever saw but it was a doozy. It was great seeing the goofy Brit get bitch slapped over and over. Blake kept saying you invited me to talk about my book, but you keep bringing up this murder.

Back to Akin. I think he's saw the light and the futility to continue on with the ruse he's going to stay on and fight, on Morgan's show. Tomorrow, Akin will announce his demise.
