I am not trying - I AM! And the fact that you NEEDED to ask all your 'damned' questions - shows it's you who is 'trying'.
Ive learned from my eight years training for the ministry that telling people that theyd better believe the exact same as you or else theyre damned is NOT the way to bring people around.
I'm not trying to bring anyone around - I post THE TRUTH OF the WORD and the Holy Spirit does the rest. NOT surprising at all, you didn't know this.
But The WORD is the same for everyone. There is ONLY ONE WAY, ONE TRUTH, and ONE LIFE.
If anyone feels damned or not - that's, personal, about them and not for you to decide. After all, it is designed to have an effect as The WORD of God is ALIVE and ACTIVE.
"For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."
If anything, its going to make them reject the Gospel because its being delivered with such overwhelming pride.
That's YOU interpreting the delivery for yourself and your agenda. And I might add that's pride. It's ALL about Jesus - so get over yourself!
I am not trying - I AM!
People think mit's SO hard to 'be' one.
So many 'rules & regulations' to follow and obey...
Jesus answered, The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.
1 John 3:21-24
Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. The one who keeps Gods commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.
Your response tells me everything I need to know about you.
Perhaps my questions were a bit pointed, but they were sincere.
Are you trying to advance the cause of the Gospel? And how are you doing so? How do you square up your comments with Paul and Peter’s commands from Jesus that we do so in a spirit of gentleness?
You can oppose Romney; that’s fine. You may well have good reasons to do so, and I can agree with most of them, even if my conclusion is different.
But your TONE is that of a liberal parody of Christians.
