Not to worry, Free Republic is not English Class
Yea but both my liberal parents were English professors.
Great job. Look at my tagline. That is why I am ABO.
My only comment is I will not vote FOR a known abortionist/homosexualist, gun-grabbing, big government socialist/statist. That would betray everything I believe in and promote. Would make a mockery of FR just as it’s making a mockery of the GOP as a conservative political force.
Romney as a conservative is a complete fraud.
Here’s the proof of that from his own mouth:

That assumption is fatally flawed.
Washington is the problem, and never will be the solution, doesn't matter which party is in control.
This and every other election is just a fight between 2 factions of Washingtonians over who gets to control and redistribute to their friends the tax dollars extorted from the productive class from the Atlantic to the Pacific by the IRS.
The Federal apparatchiks will milk every last dime from the populace, and then the government will collapse, just like the USSR.
It's what happens when you give the Franchise to everybody.
The Founders didn't put a right to vote in the Constitution for a very simple reason.
They didn't want everybody voting.
"Democracies have been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their death." James Madison
Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide. John Adams: letter to John Taylor, April 15, 1814
The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.:Thomas Jefferson
Rock on, Mark.
First, kudos to you for putting it out there. Next, welcome to the club buddy. I am spending my time, energies and money trying to get another conservative elected to the Senate. In PA Tom Smith is running against a beatable Bob Casey Jr. (Wimp, Pa). I will pull the proverbial lever for Romney, but will not campaign for him as I will for Smith.
Cheers!!!
Diogenesis, I have long admired your passion and principles and I still do. Unfortunately for us, demanding ideological and indeed, spiritual purity in the candidates before us is a fool’s errand because those candidates (just like us) are failed and flawed sinners and there isn’t a thing we can do about that, we all share the same faults before our God. It is no secret that I’ve not been real enthused about Mitt Romney, be it political or be it personal.
But if I see a thug that looks like 0bama coming out of the shadows with a sawed off shotgun in my direction, and I look down the street and see Sheriff Mitt in a purty pink Lone Ranger suit complete with flowers in the cowboy hat but packing a .45 revolver, you better believe I’m going to welcome his intervention.
I’ll deal with the purty pink outfit and his positions on various issues after the thug has been put down properly.
Because he’s not the usurper.
I've wondered about this. I'm a member of the Ohio and National Right to Life Committees and have been for many years. On August 12th, the NRLC released this statement:
WASHINGTON Today, the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the federation of 50 state right-to-life affiliates and more than 3,000 local chapters, praised Governor Mitt Romneys choice of pro-life Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan to be his running mate. National Right to Life announced its endorsement of Governor Romney in April.
How does that jibe with you calling Romney a "baby killer"? Is the NRLC an organization of "baby killers, too?
"My enthusiasm for Romney matches my enthusiasm for a root canal or a prostate exam. But sometimes root canals and prostate exams are necessary to avoid worse problems down the road. Better to have Romney's finger in my butt than Obama's knife in my back."
: )
Very well said Publius, as I mentioned in my #70 above, I’ll worry about the ‘purty pink cowboy outfit’ after we deal with the thug in the shadows.
Bump for later.
In war as in life, it is often necessary when some cherished scheme has failed, to take up the best alternative open, and if so, it is folly not to work for it with all your might.- Winston Churchill
How are you any different than the New Black Panthers who stood outside the polling place?
I will not respond to any further posts from you so your time might be better spent spamming to someone else.
Diogenesis means well Arasina. In this instance, we just see things differently.
