Well, I posted elsewhere that I was raised in a Christian family and was taught to beware of false prophets, false prophecy. I don’t hate Mormons, but I’m very sorry, I cannot accept Joesph Smith or the book of Mormon as anything but.

Some of these so-called anti Mormons have been posting here since the very beginning and criticizing Mormonism the whole time here. It’s not new and I’m not going to ban them now simply due to the fact that a Mormon is the presumptuous, er, presumptive nominee. Christians have just as much right to state their mind as anyone else. And I’ve stated ever since the beginning of FR, that I’m very biased toward God and our traditional Judeo-Christian values and teachings. I’m not going to demand that Christians cannot criticize false teachings on FR. My dear sainted mother, God rest her soul, would roll over in her grave if I did.

If this point causes the downfall of FR as some of our detractors pray, then so be it. My soul is more important to me than my politics.

I am sorry you think so..!! Jeff Head loves FR and he is a Morman.. You can't brush Mormon's with a broad brush than you can with my Southern Baptist Brethren! There are bad people of all religions. But you can't brush all mormons with the same brush! I found that out on my own..

I am a southern Baptist girl, I love the Jewish people as I know you do, but people on this site do not!!! Jim, do you think if Mitt were a Jew, he would try and tell you that Christ was only a prophet? I love Newt, but I am willing to vote for Mitt, because, he has never shown the propensity to govern due to Mormon doctrine!

I am trying to save Fr here! Yes I own Gopbriefingroom.com, but we are not an antifreep site! Mystery-ak, and I owe everything to this site, her husband and son were called to Iraq and afghan multiple times.. Yet she was banned here!! That is unbelievable!!!

YOU don't want people leaving? People who have donated for 10+ years? You need to think who are this people running your threads now? They are not really what you want, only what you think the conservatives want! Which is a lie!!! I don't know how else to try and get you to understand, that you are being used!!!

Thank you for saying this, Jim.

I think there are two different agendas at work.

The first involves pro-Romney people who are fighting for their candidate and trying to damage the opposition. I don't agree with them but I can't blame them. Political activity is a full-contact sport.

The second agenda is more sinister. Some people are trying to silence those who oppose Mormonism.

The only reason I can think of to vote for Romney is that he's better than Obama. Since my state could easily be a swing state I may end up doing that myself. Jim has already said that he's only one vote and he's not trying to tell the rest of us how to vote.

But to those who wants to silence critics of Mormonism because Mitt Romney is the presumptive Republican nominee — have you guys lost your marbles? Mormons are a tiny percentage of America and nearly everyone who is a seriously committed Christian conservative views them as a cult.

Efforts by Romney supporters to get Free Republic to stop attacking their candidate could easily have been expected. Romney met with representatives of Red State and other conservative anti-Romney internet blogs after he locked up the nomination, and I think we all knew that once Jim Robinson decided he wasn't going to change his opposition, there would be organized efforts to marginalize Free Republic.

But trying to get an anti-Romney website to ban opponents of Mormonism who have been posting against Mormonism for more than a decade? That's crazy talk. It makes no political sense. The only way to explain it is that Mormon “true believers” must feel religiously obligated to attack Free Republic regardless of whether it makes any political sense or not.
