Election Law Center has learned that 1,100 Florida voters will not be able to participate in today's state primary because of snafus by the government. 300 absentee voters in Martin County (FL) and 800 in Indian River County (FL) did not receive their requested absentee ballots in time to participate in today's important primary election because the United States Post Office treated the bulk absentee ballot mailings as third class mail. The ballots were deposited by Martin and Indian River County election officials with the United States Post Office nearly three weeks ago, but the USPS office in Jacksonville treated the absentee ballot mailings as third class mail.
Some of the voters just today received their absentee ballots by mail, and today is the day of the election. According to attorneys knowledgeable with Florida election law, these ballots may not be faxed, emailed or otherwise returned electronically. That means 1,100 voters who sought to participate in the election will not be allowed to participate.
Who is running? There are primaries for United States Senate, Alan West vs. Robert Crowder, State House, County Commissioner, Sheriff, School Supervisors, and other Congressional offices. Examine a sample ballot here.
Of the 1,100 absentee ballots, 300 are for Martin County and 800 are for Indian River County. West is not on the ballot in Indian River County, just Martin County.
Sheriff Crowder is a DNC tool, I doubt he’ll pull 20% district wide.
This is a cheap shot at West and a direct assault on our men and women in uniform. It’s not known publicly how many of those 300 absentee ballots were meant for military serving overseas, but even if it’s only one ballot, it’s unforgivable.
...because the United States Post Office treated the bulk absentee ballot mailings as third class mail.
More than 1,000 out-of-state ballots for Martin, Indian River counties get hung up at post office
Alan West is just destroying Crowder!!! Connie Mack is running at about 60% and will easily win the GOP Senate Primary. The Bill Nelson vote is running about half of what the GOP vote is. Nelson will lose his seat to Mack, and...Obama will lose Florida by a big margin!!! Democraphics do not lie!!!
“A practice run for November?”

Looks like it to me. “Treated like 3rd class mail”? That’s BS—if the Post Office held onto 3rd class mail for 3 weeks or more, the local offices would quickly become totally buried. The local postal union leadership and members are responsible for this.
This is the last straw for me. I hope they have MASSIVE layoffs now and reduce most of their wage scales to down near the minimum wage. Public Service unions have become absolutely intolerable.
“Just a warning to military absentee voters. Don’t return your ballots back here by friendmail ( the next person going back to the states or your local area ). In the 2000 election Dems challenged any absentee ballot that had a postmark that didn’t match the APO/FPO and got away with it. I’ve heard nothing was done to change that since then.”
You should post that as it’s own thread.
WOO-HOO!
Robert L. Crowder REP 15,654 25.71%
Allen B. West REP 45,228 74.29%

What a stupid question.

We need to privatize the post office asap.
Democrats begin Cheating in Elections.....

Marxist Disaster will passover them?
I support voter ID laws.
I support Paul Ryan too.
You are clearly insane.
You should wipe that rabid drool off your chin with a rag, it isn’t very becoming.
Go pester someone else please.
Bark, little rabid doggie, woof!
lmao, you’re the only one being aggressive. Did you forget to take your meds, kiddo?
Please, sir, won’t you be so kind as to hand me a twig so that I might scrape you off the bottom of my shoe.
I would sue the government if I were treated so...
Florida? What do they need absentee ballots for? Isn’t that the place where they once caught a Democrat election official with a voting machine in the trunk of his car? Yeah! It is!
I believe that Allen West would be more than welcomed to run in another district. Hell, we’ll take him if his district won’t. My district has lots of vets, and most of us don’t care about the current ROE that he was exposed to.
